How big is the warehouse collection area?

The reason for the question is I have a warehouse just for firewood and the villager seems to have a fairly small collection area. There was firewood on the ground about 90-120 Ragnar steps from the warhouse, empty storage bins and the assigned villager was just sitting down in the warehouse without a care in the world.

If there is a zone, like for stone or wood cutting, then it would be nice to have it highlight when you cursor over the warehouse. It would also be nice to have a warehouse banner to cover the areas you need.

If I'm not mistaken, the warehouse workers pick up stuff from buildings only, unless you have building material banners placed.

Thanks for the reply. I've had my warehouse guy pick stuff up off the ground. I had him walk to my mine and pick up firewood lying around but not walk to the other side of the village to pick up firewood.

I wasn't aware that the build material banner worked for him. I thought it was just for builders. I'll give that a go. Thanks

You are wrong, my warehouse workers run and collect like firewood, which I forbade the lumberjacks to collect, so that they carry branches instead. And it seemed to me that they run far enough, but I agree, we need to somehow designate a "responsibility zone" for them.

If I recall correctly... they increased the range from 100 to 300 (meters?) at one point. That should be the majority of any good sized village. Then they go for the building resource flags. I basically place one anytime I place a wood harvest flag. (and usually stone and forager flag too for good measure. hunter flag if creatures nearby)
Building resource flag is not just for builders, warehousers (with storage space) will see it as well as cooks for firewood, altar-ers for resin etc.ect.

Warhouse worker doesnt collect it from ground, they gather from the Gather hut, Wood & Stone choppers, Farm, Fishing Hut, Hunting hut, etc ... the Different Huts gather from its type materials. ... and then the workers for Carpentry, Cook station etc get it from warehouse to craft stuff with it.
