How do you break down clothing?

If I can't, do I just delete extra clothes? All my armor displays are full and I'm throwing extra clothes onto a sled for now till I get this answered. All my villagers have flimsy linens on and I am upgrading them to crude leather clothing.

My crafter will fill up the armor displays and stop making clothes, because the armor sets are filled. This brings me back to my original question.

Here's the fun thing: You don't. I've been piling the old stuff off to the side and pulling out the hoe grinder when the pile gets too big. For better or worse, villagers don't pick them off the ground so you can leave them there as long as you like.

Bugged me literally few hours ago x'D
Had too many iron helmets laying around as I was switching to different gearing for all my villagers. And really wanted the iron plates back :'(

Interesting thought, might be nice to have the weaver/leatherworker have a 'recycle/reclaimation' task where a small percentage of fiber, linen and thread is reclaimed from breaking down old wearables? The hoe thing is just silly.
