ASKA
Can you mod or cheat?
Looking for something else to play besides Valheim. Will be in single player mode. Been warned away from Aska people saying sp mode to hard. Is there options to mod or cheat codes?

Many haven't found it hard solo if you watch some beginner guides etc. But if you read the 20th Aug update and imminent big Aug update out any day now. There be many world sliders on enemies, events, day length and you be able to adjust the difficulty up and down somewhat along with many other features.

There are some cheat for the game via external applications / trainers.
Here are the issues and why it only really the "godmode" cheats that work and is this not recommended to use.

-- Written on pre-AUG update cheat information, One I checked has a note now saying they are working on the current update --

Unlimited HP , Hunger, Thirst and Stamina = works as intended but just for the player

Add item on use = It does allow to "clone" an item. Due to it not limiting stacks you will get stacks NO ONE can pickup and stacks with 0 items in.

Unlimited Durability / Freshness = Some just hide the damage and they the wool just breaks at "full durability" and if it works you will get no compost and have zero decay on stuff left out to rot away (despawn)

Ignore Crafting Materials = Only stuff the player can craft without a crafting table (starter tools + rope)

Any form of time manipilation (Freeze , +1 hour, -1 hour) = Wells\water do not refill, crops do not grow, Mobs respawns can be skipped over. Villagers will be be stuck or miss time triggers and DIE or leave due to being unhappy.

Game speed \ player move speed = Mobs move faster too + Same issues as time manipilation.

----

And last off all is the enjoyment you miss out on from playing the game as intended,

Hopefully the game update will allow us to change a few stuff for "training wheels" to "Ironman" difficulties.

From what I understand, sliders for difficulty settings and stuff like that are a future plan, so not quite yet but eventually (hopefully, its EA, always take it with a grain of salt). That said, in some ways i'm finding it easier than Valheim so far. Yeah, there are some pretty sudden and steep difficulty curves, especially at the start, but unlike Valheim i dont find myself getting pushed into places Im not really ready for, in order to get the materials to be ready for those areas. Then again, i can also just indefinitely hide away at home in Valheim and never get attacked by anything more than dinner if i want to go slow, not as much of an option here.

We'll most likely be rolling out the custom world update today, so you'll be able to make the game easier or harder. Keep thine eyes peeled for the announcement :demoneye:
time stop currently messes with the days played I have more interest in the building of the the vilage than the events and had played around with wemod. a while back the time stop did the same thing. my first save went to 860 ish days due to a update and wemod not being ready for it. same heppened on the new release this week. my latest save is at 34 days even though it was frozen at 2 for a while now. i suspect 34 days would be the correct count for the playtime i have in to it.

speaking of mod's will there be support for actual mods in the future and or changing the models of the vikings? i would find it fun to make a how to train your dragon event where you can start spawning the residents from birk in your play though.

Well it's a bit of a learning curve ASKA, now on my 7th map I think. Restart fresh since yesterdays patch, one get better and better after each try on map/seeds. One re-think where to place stuff, and what to build up first to make it smooth etc.

Please, for all us grown adult gamers, add a game speed option because it is so painfully slow it's nigh upon unplayable. Some of us have kids to attend to and other life responsibilities so we don't have the luxury of taking 5 minutes to move a short distance. I've used mods just to speed up the game and make it move at a reasonable pace.
I have to admit that I cheat a little :)
Because I got tired of my farmers using 6 rakes each, every day (when I used wooden tools)
Someone says that iron tools don't disappear, but that's not true, I've lost many axe and pickaxe heads that broke because they weren't in my bag, they were gone

And that everything decays way too fast compared to what it should.

And stamina disappears WAY too fast

And that I have to eat and drink every 5 minutes, if this were real, I would weigh 800 kilos because of all the things my character eats

And because the amount of rope that needs to be used is totally crazy

Cheats and codes, the game is easy if you understand the mechanics of the game, at any difficulty level, if you know how to set the priority correctly, know how to call etuns correctly, know the order of completing tasks.
I will say there should be NO cheats or codes in the game. If you can't play, you couldn't recognize the game, then this game is not for you.
Not only is it not to hard, it's not too* hard too.

Skill issue. Grammar and reading comprehension issue.

100%. Even on the hardest difficulty, if one is keenly familiar with the game mechanics, they can succeed. OP seems to have skill issues.

Some people have developmental issues, others like posted previously, have kids, and just want to have fun. Don't yuck others yums. I personally sometimes cheat in games, just because I want to enjoy the building/management, but don't want to deal with raids/enemies etc. I also sometimes play hardcore modes, to see if I am up to the challenge. People pay for the games, they should be able to decide how they want to play it(single player only games that is.). I do agree that this game is not that hard once you know the mechanics, but I do understand why people would want to have cheats.

you can also set up a mode without enemies and raids just find a game mode for yourself which on the right side when you start a new game you can set up the game for yourself

I heard from reviews one big issue was buildings slowly losing durability and collapsing. Is this still true? Even Valheim only loses down to at most 50% hp but not beyond that. Even then i use mod to disable it.
(Because it is also aesthetically unpleasant to see broken buildings and constantly needing to hammer everything, especially terrible with big builds.)
