Achievements disabled for custom games?

Started a new world with custom settings and haven't been able to earn any new achievements. Tried for mushroom gathering and first fish catch and earned the In game "Nice Catch" and "Mushroomed" but no achievements. Anyone else having this issue or is it not a issue at all and meant to happen with custom?

update: achievements will not work in custom game mode and this is intentional

Really unhappy about this. Its not like there are so many things you can adjust and change and just cheat your way through. I play on the settings that work for me, so I can enjoy myself. Guess I'll just have to do without achievements then.

Sad to hear about the achievements! I absolutely agree with the authors above. The main reason why I play custom is height diversity, which is sadly unavailable in normal games (why though?) There is such an amazing village in the main menu, but you can't actually build this in game bc of almost no height diversity in normal maps.

Disabling achievements for playing the way you want to play is bad design.

and its not like most of the achievements are hard to get. I am only missing collecting mushrooms and fishing.
Suggestion: Make one or two achievements only for hardcore mode or something and leave the rest open.

Literally the only thing I changed was setting the building decay rate from "medium" to "low", and I haven't gotten a single achievement. Super lame.

If a custom game is going to disable achievements then PLEASE PLEASE for the love of god at least tell us with a warning pop up that says "WARNING PLAYING A CUSTOM WORLD WILL DISABLE ACHIEVEMENTS!", So I don't sink 30 hours into a game, only to realize none of the achievements were unlocking...

I feel this is dumb i yet to own the game and i am no achievements hunter/care forem but most games leave them in even in custom and is only disabled if mods are enabled.

i'm with others should be enabled tbh.

It´s nor dumb neither bad design if the developers only want you to get achievements when the games difficulty is exact the way they imagined it to be. If i got them you can get them too!
