Day lenght (world settings) scaling
Does anybody know if/how/what mechanics scale with day length?

EDIT: I will just add the day length for anyone who may be searching
Lenght of the day (24h ingame) in real time
96min 48min 24min 19min 14min

Does it impact how often workers need to eat?
Does the time it takes to grow stuff on the farm scale?
Are raids more/less often to compensate for the day-length setting?
Anything else that may be per-day/time scaling?

Aka minimum day length would be HARDEST since it would mean that you have less time to prepare for raids and workers eat more often (as per real-time time), and your workers will do less stuff per day.
However, on maximum day length workers during night do nothing for like 40min of IRL time since everyone sleeps, but they can do way more stuff per day (since it is IRL longer), and would be needed to be fed less often per IRL time.

I've found that all mechanics proceed at normal rate but time is stretched. Workers will need more food and water per game day because of this but you have much more time to get things built. It works best to break up their schedules with a couple breaks throughout the day rather than the full straight day and get a cook and warehouse person to take the food earlier rather than later. The gatherers can feed veggies and mushrooms to the cook fast enough to keep up until you get a hunter going.

I also, while the food stockpile is growing, go through my workers while they are asleep and take the extra food out of their inventory.

Blood moons can last a little longer. I had one that went three waves but most are one or two and end when the last mob is killed. Other creature invasions seem unaffected. I did not notice a frequency increase in either.

I haven't paid attention to farm scaling.

I'm just deciding if i want log, short, or normal days and years since all have some pros and cons.

If all mechanics pass at the normal rate, then farming should be ok.

Do you happen to know if it affects animal respawns? For if the night is 40 minutes IRL, it could be long enough for animals to replenish for the hunter as long as he doesn't overhunt during the day, aka not to trigger the 1y respawn timer.
I have just tested that patrols will NOT attack monster spawners (like around the wolf den), so that is one problem of 1y long respawn timer solved.

I ask because the maximum day length and normal year are like 60 hours IRL for 1 ingame year to pass, so I need to balance it somehow around the spawns.

I'm trying to make a battle-hardened colony with many enemy areas around to farm iron through battle. The more battles, the more battle skills my villagers will get—or at least that's the plan.

I'm not sure. I had 4 hunting markers out ( 3 larger game, 1 smolkor) and never had to place a 5th.

The combination I enjoy the most is max day, extended seasons. It does make winter longer but max length year takes way too long for seasonal changes to happen, for me that is. Haven't done a max day normal year yet but I can see it working.

For what you want, the max day, normal year with heavy population of enemies would be great. You will use a bit more food than otherwise but you will get so much done, especially once you get a day and night crew going. I think I'll try that one out next.

So I decided on the maximum day and year

It is with all maximum difficulty, terrain is up to you

Farther from a mine than I like but for creating a battle hardened village that takes a little work, it's perfect!

I have max day lenght and from what I can say, two farmers can handle the farms perfectly. I use normal shedules with one additional freetime slot: 12 work, 9 sleep, 3 freetime.
A dark night might be a bit long but most times theres plenty things to do.

Food usually is no problem until now with one hunter, two fisherman and two of my 9 field for berries and vegetables. Actually arrows are getting a problem.

Works good for me and I would allways go with this setting.
