Valid concern. Feels like waste of a villager. They should also train the dogs when the dogs are fully grown. Trained dogs should have a faster reaction time and dodge attacks better. Or if you want to make it simple just increase the dog's stats.

As I suggested, they need to add a proper job priority system that all the colony management games use. One villager per job is just stupid.
