how do villagers get thatch?

so i have tried putting every single marker in thatch areas at beach, and still seems villagers will not gather it. for now i just gather it myself as needed but it is kind of a drag. is there any way to get villagers to do this (along the coastlines)?

Build a woodworker hut not too far, set it to High priority on Tatch, and assign a villager.

Thatch is a problem. Since it's only on the coasts it gets progressively far from the villagers. Since it doesn't regrow it becomes scarce. Since it's needed for beds and every high end building it's an extreme necessity.

For me it regrows as well. It probably comes back after an in-game year?

So I saw it regrow in one game, but in my current run it isn't, so I thought either I didn't see what I saw, or they removed it.

Does anyone know which marker it is that controls thatch? I can't tell if it's the Wood marker or the Building Materials marker.

It's the wood marker. You can tell by looking at your wood cutters task list.

I have 2 woodcutters 6 followers max pop 60. I just have it on high an have 1 workers only task doing that when I need it, and yea it regrows not sure after how many seasons.
