Enemy too many & too strong... It's too hard
Any possible to make it easy to play?

go north till you find the cave. nice flat area near it. 1 wolf spot on the northern side ( good for food in winter ), with a skellie on the right.

you can lure 1 wolf away from the pack and use a simple weapon to kill it. just learn to circle it till it attacks then heavy attack it till its stunned then lay into it. easy once you get to know it. they are harder in packs due to their knock down attacks.

neither will aggro unless you get to close. for the wolves its about where the slope ends. all you need to to test the wolves is let them chase you and watch where they turn back. the black ones seem to go the farthest.

skellies should not pose any issue as they are far enough away. you can test them in the same manner.

lots of trees lots of birch. tons of deer near the cave. nothing to bother you aside from those. plenty of good forage and exploring area around that. super great area to learn in my opinion.

theres a second cave all the way north, too. i hear it has 200+ iron according to the site. i had to many issues with the stone golem things and an annoying set of wolves, too. theres a bear near on the other side that doesnt roam ( theres always the night bear attack about x days out ) he gets eaten year 2. :) just have to distract him enough till he goes away.

What's your game play time?

Starting point have no enough resources so next day I have to walk far, even I have equip stone weapon but North got wolves East got skelatons & West got a gang of monster. The next game still the same always wolves & unknown creatures at 3 sides waiting for me.

I would suggest walking on the beach for awhile picking up rocks and thatch. Turn the thatch into fiber and the fiber ropes. Get your basic tools and a two handed club. Run away from the zombies. You should be able to kill the wisps pretty easy.
When you find a nice quite spot right on the beach, build your first camp. It won't be the best spot on the map, but it will help you learn and get started. My first game I never left the beach. Once I got the hang of it I started a new game and then chose a location more inland.

I agree with the OP.
I'd find the game a lot more enjoyable if there were options for an easier difficulty, both with enemies and villager survival.
My play time is 63 hours, I'm currently on my 3rd or 4th re-start. The problem I find is that when the enemies spawn, usually at night, most of my villagers are asleep and don't help, so either I or the couple I can spare to act as guards end up getting killed, or I get buildings being destroyed, which gets tiresome and expensive.
It would also be helpful if the fences etc. added to the defence score, and if a high defence score maybe discouraged attackers? I've found the best defence is earth banks and ditches, but I end up building those for real defence, and still having to build various structures to make the villagers feel safe.

If you explore the map further, there are wide areas without enemy spawn points in certain locations.

Also, be sure to manually put a club in the inventory of each villager, and they will fight back. They run when they have no weapon at all.

Thanks for advice, okay I'll try again ^^
I spent the first year alone.
I was not confident that I could produce the equipment to survive the winter.

In the second year, I added only two friends.
It seems that fewer companions means fewer raiders.

Perhaps it may be easier to play with fewer people if you are unfamiliar with the game.

It is troublesome when you are close to a wolf's nest, because the wolves will attack you. I think it is better to build a base a little further away.
On the other hand, it is easier to get meat and skins when wolves are nearby.
A place that is neither too close nor too far away is good.

If the sea is close, you can make fiber from reeds. Hold down the shift key and click on the reeds to turn them into fiber.
Reeds regenerate quickly, so you will not have a shortage of fiber.

Winter equipment requires large amounts of animal skins and fiber, so it is best to be near the ocean and close to the wolf's den.

I believe in you! A lot of the early game of ASKA is trial & error and learning from your mistakes. I will say that if you check out our FAQs the devs are looking into difficulty sliders & world options as a high priority, bear with us <3

This is rubbish, I have Bellwright and it is a far better game with difficulty settings, who on earth thought it was clever to make a game that is nigh on impossible to get beyond the start point??

Would like a refund please!

I agree. I've restarted several times because the stupid bear ruins everything and kills all of my villagers and destroys my entire camp. I don't understand how a single player can get past that part.

I've done 3 playthroughs so far and in every playthrough I've killed the bear with minimal damage. I play Single player. The bear is a massive threat and it's understandable that some people are unable to combat such a threat with barely a month of ingame time.

First time i encountered the bear i was completely unprepared and was completely blind sided by it, but i got lucky. i placed my villager sleeping spots in close proximity around my campfire and the bear just happened to swipe and hit 3 of them. Villagers woke up and tore the bear to pieces with picks and hatchets. After that in all my other playthroughs i was fully prepared for him and its not even a challenge anymore killing the bear.

Your villagers will help you in combat, but you need to land a hit on the opponent while their running away. If you do they will turn around and attack the skeleton, bear, etc. no matter what tool/weapon they have.

Just because the bear destroys your village doesn't mean its game over. you can always rebuilt and structures drop a large amount of their materials when destroyed so rebuilding goes faster. Yes you have to rerecruit everyone, but its better than starting from scratch and the bear comes early enough into the game that theirs still a large amount of jotus stones on the map. It's better and more worthwhile to rebuild your village than to start a new game from scratch over and over again tbh

Precisely we have to explore the island and find a safe zone before establish our tribe, but seriously, as single player, not all player is expertise player, I do wish to have an option to lower difficulty level, or just zombie attack for the Blood moon for 1st month. :steammocking:

I think your first playthrough just gets you familiar enough with the game. You dont even need to go to the first winter. Find yourself a good seed with nearby iron for your second playthrough, and you will be fine.

I still prefer going with 0 villagers for at least the first winter. That allows me to focus on rushing the tech progression.

All that said, yeah I want gameplay sliders. I just prefer to not have as aggressive of a ticking clock on me all the time.

might quit the game after 69 hours of game play cause now your bunnies steal and/or destroy everything, the moment you walk away all the harvest your people have collected gone in an instant and am not building a perimeter fence by myself in the beginning wasting much needed time to grow before blood moons
