Villagers drop resources of broken tools

This has happened 4 times in our second gameplay with my hubby. We make iron tools for our villagers and you can of course repair these. But the villagers literally drop the iron somewhere on the map. One villager has carried it in their inventory but all the others drop the resources.. it's a pain to search for the precious iron (when you are early in the game) in your village and still waste the resources. I can't imagine how it is when you have a village with over 20 people.

Did you build broken parts storage in a warehouse? They should then leave them there, or the person responsible for warehouse picks them up.

While I don't know if they get it all, I have one of my storage places with a metal part storage, you can up the priority of that and they will go pick them up for you.

Indeed and it seems that warehouse people actually have really far range too. I was exploring and killed some wolves and while skinning them comes a guy to pick up all meat from almost other side of the map.

Thanks guys! We did not have a broken parts storage yet, we will build one tonight and hopefully we won’t need to search the ground for resources anymore :)))
