water well
is there something i need to do so that my villagers go to the second water well that i have? they seem to only go to one of them but not the other and they are running out of water.

Nope, it's a known bug or just poor AI coding. In the the mean time just built a ton of water catcher's around that well. The villagers will also use them.

Build a barrel in a warehouse. Warehouse workers will collect from every well they find. Build that storage with barrels near the houses.
