sword breaks to iron block

when i use a sword till it breaks it leaves an iron bar in my inventory instead of a iron blade. seems there is no way to change an iron bar back to any other metal tool. if you make a tool you don't need it's just wasted metal. please let me recycle metal parts.

yes, I have the same problem. If the one-handed sword is broken, I get an iron block! Iron is already in short supply, and then a conversion error like this is really annoying 🙁
