Optimal workshop combinations
On my last playthrough of day 100, I still haven't figured this out:
When i try to queue tasks for high-end armor it tells me that the workshop needs leatherworker+metalsmith (as in a local combo of leather+smith), otherwise it can't be queued as a task. Carpenter+Metal combo doesn't work, it then says it requires leather add-on.

So the way I see it, we need 3-4 workshops. Please someone tell me the optimal way to set this up. I can't for the life of me understand why it is this way.

1. Leather+loom (basic winter armor)
2. Carpenter (can be doubled to mass-produce, enabling fast building)
3. Leather+Blacksmith (advanced armor)
4. (optional) Dyes

On a different note, with tier 3 upgrade we can assign up to 6 villagers to work on this thing, as one workshop can only have 2 add-ons, I really don't see why we would ever assign that many villagers to one workshop, when we need so many different combinations of them.

You can make day and night shifts.

I combine loom and leatherworker
Carpenter + blacksmith
Both workshops are pretty close to each other and also close to lumber mill.
Smelting iron I'm doing on my own.

Bur I like your idea of double carpenter.

With carpenter+blacksmith, are you able to queue tasks creating higher end armor? I cba to reach 100 crafting to manually craft it, i want it to be automated. Try setting up an armor piece as a task, you should get a nonsensical error, requiring you to have leatherworker+blacksmith in the same building :)

That is insanly stupid... the more I play this game the more I see retarded stuff like this. One selling point of this game was the smart ai and all I can say is it seems really basic.

They need to make buildings collaborate automatic. Make them light torches that we have set to lit automatic when close. Auto collect nearby items if available from all sources. Remove markers and make them auto collect and give setup for collecting radius and stuff.

I also was trying to figure out how to get advanced armor. I have all of the buildings and have items unlocked in codex but it seems tedious to have to have certain workshop combos to craft specific items. Forces you to have duplicate add ons in different workshops XD. I'll try the leather and smith combo. I only had leather+loom and carp+smith

I have weaver+blacksmith and carpenter+Leatherworker. I get that notification too sometimes about the leatherstuff that is queued, but at the end the armor is still built at some point. Manually I can built the stuff without problems.
I can only do this in the Workshop with weaver+Blacksmith...the other one where the Leatherworker is tells me that I need a weaver. I think that system might be a little bugged stil....
Too bad the armor on the stands gets deleted everytime I load my game (known bug :/ ), otherwise I would be motivated to rebuilt to see if I can craft better armor now.
