In the future I intend to build closer to the water hoping that the cook/warehouser will save me the trouble.
FYI you need to skin the fish with a knife, a cook NPC can do that on their own.
I was hoping to find rivers that i would use to fish out of inland, as the coast sucks to build with all the non resource beach rock. Maybe a small lake or two would do.
How were you getting the fish from the hut storage into your in town warehouse so food people could use it? sled?
I didnt got solution for the Fillets but the Fishing hut is the best way "hands down" for the Compost for your farms just let them fist they use theyr own fist to make baits and all the fish just rots there while farmest pick it up as compost.
What I did have issue with was having more than one fisherman at a time on a structure. The second one would normally sit further back on the hut or house and not do anything while the first one fished. I ended up making 11 fishing huts and one fishing house. I also assigned some fishermen to work at night next to a tower that was manned at night.
Bonus points if you set the layout right, and you have towers covering their fishing area and also their sleeping quarters with a cool making fish soup nearby (provide food easily and fire during winter for warmth)
Then, I set up a proper warehouse+market thing to transport the fish back to my village. I go to check on the fisherman and they're complaining they have no bait, while standing in a pile of it they've chucked on the ground for some reason, and won't go back to work until I pick up their bait for them and put it back in the container.
I thought maybe I should put a bait storage in the warehouse beside the fishing area so that if the fisherman throws it on the ground the warehouse guy might pick it up for him, but I can't figure which, if any, storage container will hold bait
Markets should absolutely have the capability of going straight from hut to warehouse, instead of needing a starting warehouse. It would be less efficient in the general case, but save a large headache for things like this.
But my fisherman is catching around 3 fish per day for a dozen or more villagers. I have no idea how to make him go faster.
