just a few questions
1. my biggest issue is fish. fish fish fish fish fish. i have so much fish. but my barbecue guy won’t process the fish unless he’s like right next to the fishing hut which sucks because my fishing hut is a little ways away. this would be fine if my villagers wanted to run all the way over there in the cold. so i did what i thought would work and made a warehouse, but they never transported the fish. come to find out the waste house has a range and i think the village i spent all day yesterday making is just kind of screwed now. TLDR warehouse transportation issue with fish leading to starvation and death in winter. What do i even do to counteract this?
2. the workshop is weird. so okay from what i understand the villager will keep on crafting the tools as long as there isn’t that tool in his little storage area. Cool? nooo. not cool. he doesn’t check the warehouse. so let’s say you have a tool rack because you wanted the workshop to be able to craft everything in their task list without running out of storage space. lol he’ll just keep crafting the same items over and over again as long as they’re being taken out. this leads me to 3.
3. you would think that for a game where you spend a majority of your time managing your clan and getting resources, you would have a better means of controlling your people. almost every colony builder has a priorities screen and i’m not saying this game should have that because this game is more job based but being able to easily edit your villagers without having to open 4 different menus to change when they work and sleep would be nice. or being able to designate how many items to keep crafted in your storage (maybe you always want 3 bows and 3 hoes crafted) or even having the builders haul items on the ground to open storage. is there anyway to do any of these things yet or are we just gonna have to wait and see?
4. what the ♥♥♥♥ does the cookhouse do??? i see people use it all the time and i see my character talk about “garlic broth” but i built the cookhouse and there’s just berry recipes. how do i use the cookhouse?

As for 3… that’s my main issue right now. It feels more like a colony management system tacked on to a survival craft game (like the Minecraft Colonies mod) and needs a bit more work to run smoothly. The colony management for Soulmask is better integrated but that game is an RNG-fest when it comes to everything (villager quality and skill caps, item quality, chance of finding certain items when harvesting/looting, etc. everything is random).

For 4, use the berry recipes as a guide to discover others. Garlic broth is the 2 water one and will remove illness.

The villagers are just too dumb at this point in the game. Hopefully this will improve with each patch. Villager management is a pain in the brownhole.
Good tip about the broth tho!

There are pages online showing different recipes. You don't get the recipe In the cookhouse until you make it yourself from what I've seen. Once you make it, it becomes available to the cook

Nr 3. It woukd help a lot if the game paused while those windows are open, giving unlimited time to tweak villager setting and no need to stress about it. Same for looking at the map.

Nr. 3 has much, much, much room for improvement the difference between weight the game puts on manage you villagers aspect and let them work for you and what we have at the moment is day and night. I like the game and it is not too hard or any think but to babysit your villagers 24/7 is a pain. And yes, it is realistic because as an employer you most of the time don't do nothing else than solving problems for people that you once hired to solve your problems but it turns out you pay them to let them make their problems to your problems, so that they can work on the next set of problems for you to solve.

But this is still a game and i don't wanted to be haunted by brain afk npcs. I hope the game give you at some point proper tool to manage your npc in a village manager.
