Request : highlight building obstacles / terrain issues

When placing a building is not possible due to obstacles or unlevel terrain, please highlight what elements are causing trouble.
e.g. it is not obvious that a log on the ground is considered an obstacle.

btw, I get the impression that the level grid of the archery range and the area for the build check is misaligned : I tried to build a range between two cliffs an it passed the build check with half the lanes in the air, but did not pass on a pre-leveled area the same size of the range
