The larger frame:
Will make 'wood beams', this is where both logs can go. They make large and smaller beams. Put the log on the frame (R). You press Q and your character will sit on the log and holding Q will start your character shaving the bark off the wood. R also to rotate the log when you hear the scraping change in sound (usually two scrapes then turn wood). When you're done your character will automatically dismount.
The smaller frame:
If you want 'wood planks', you take a large log over to the small frame and then with Q and a metal axe start splitting this beam into 'wooden planks'.
If you want 'wood shafts', you take the thin log to this frame and using a metal axe and pressing Q you chop or split these smaller logs into 'wood shafts'.
