Bear, Invasions and Skeletons. Oh my!

I been reading post so i will comment on my experience.

1. Bear If you do not have wolves to help you fight, Kite the bear away from village. Every mob in this game has ques. Stay behind the bear hit and run watch for his charge. If you run into him face first expect to die.

2. Invasion. You see the portal so in advance you know exactly where it comes from. They come in waves. Same tactics as bear they all have ques. Big guy with sword is slow. Archers stay back. Zombie dude's run at you. Kill archer first Ax or hunting knife. Remember right mouse button is power attack, Use it. After archer Kill off zombie dude. Now big guy is slow hit and run 2 or 3 power attacks he's dead. All the mobs can be staggered and stunned.

3. Skele. Stun and kill. If more than one mob and there close to each other you hit can stun all 3.


Biggest thing unless your geared DO NOT run in face first. It's a survival game adapt to the situation if you need to run and heal do it. My best advice for solo is to get wolf pups early feed and pet them to heal.

More bear tips since there seems to still be some struggle. You can trigger his attack by running at him and veering to the left, move past him slightly, then turn and swing as his attack misses. No need to block, no need to roll. Watch your stamina (sleep just before each night for added bonus, it makes a huge difference) and don't get greedy with your swings, one at a time.

You can dodge roll the bear by timing it when he starts to charge towards you. This will avoid all damage. Train your Bow skill at Archery Range by spamming the target practice. By doing this my bow skill is 30+ on Aska and I'm able to fend off bears, wolves, or skeletons and Draugr.

Less economical approach to the bear is zerging it. I had 19 villagers sleeping, i had the bear hit the cottages, the villagers came out swarming and absolutely murdered it. I lost 3 villagers, but considering my inventory was full of Jotunn Blood, it didnt matter.
