Idk about the nails. Those i haven't yet tested. But everything else you can repair.
But you have to have a warehouse worker and a warehouse spot for broken tool parts.
Because your Villagers break tools and then don't pick up or store those pieces.
Why don't they go into the villagers' inventories, and have *them* take it to a bin? Dropping them on the ground seems like asking for trouble, as all the pieces of my Carpentry tools seem to be dropping through the workshop floor and possibly also the planet, never to be seen again. Warehouse worker with a broken tools bin can't find them either.
Also, if a woodworker or stonecutter has a tool break while a half-mile from camp, are you supposed to run around the entire map searching a broken axe/pick head?
Yeah, already did this and no luck. Whenever one of my carpenters' tools breaks, the broken part seems to just disappear and MAYBE show up somewhere 20 minutes later, if I'm lucky, maybe 25% of the time. I think they're falling through the floor of the crafter's shop.
Workshop is like 10 feet from my warehouse, doesn't make a difference, warehouse guy can't find it and neither can I.
Then all you have to do is tick the box on your forge to use recycled parts (or whatever it is called) to use those parts to make tools.
I even spent an hour last night running around the map spamming Z to look for the dropped heads myself w/o success.
