You need to walk the island look for a VERY tall looking rock....hit your Z button so it lights up resources and if its the proper rock it will highlight as well....that is the rock you build the cave entrance at.....once you open it up.....you go down with your large pickaxe and then hit the wall until it breaks - look on ground and you should be dropping iron ore and large rock chunks.....you can carry them to the entrance - the left is iron ore bin and the right is the large rock chunk bin. Once you gather them all, you keep walking further hit the next wall and gather again - RINSE / REPEAT
