They also seem to get pissed if they work too much, do work they don't like, see a monster, or feel unsafe (because your town defense or their particular station is not defended).
I found that if you assign them to the barracks or archery range, their happiness will go up again, so you can cycle them through those buildings when they get too unhappy.
Is there a way to tell what shift a particular villager would prefer to work?
Sometimes they have traits that say. But apparently most of them just prefer not to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ work at all.
Yeah my villagers hate working, love eating and drinking all the water and they're ecstatic about complaining about the defences. I mean I have 4 towers, 3 hedge towers, and not enough people but too many people for food consumption so I can't get more.
I gave my day people 7 hours sleep, 2 leisure, 4 hours work, 1 leisure, 4 hours work and finally 4 hours leisure. pretty standard day really? nope. Unhappy.
Not the case here really...yes there is this happiness mechanic, but its not really a major thing (at least for me). I just build stuff and never had any problems with villagers being unhappy or even leaving
