This is terrible, please share the save file if you can. And the player.log/player-prev.log. It looks like a corrupted save, this is unexpected and we would really want to find the cause.
Inside your save folder, there is a little file named "meta". Please check the "saveOk" and "is session Owner" flags. If either one of those is false, then you cannot see the save in game.
Basically once you cut all the tree's or mined out the cave its game over (which ever comes 1st) since not much respawn. Stick tree's do and plants do at the turn of the year, trees, stone, bloodstone, iron do not.
Hope this gets addressed, either with boats or trade system-(that require boats).
most maps i have scouted out only had 1 cave and it takes over an hour of running round scouting the island out of 9 maps i have had 1 map with no cave whatsoever, 2 maps with 2 caves on 2 maps and both were well away from each other with no flat land and plenty of irremovable rocks around as well as not being anywhere near the coastline, the other maps all had 1 cave only, making them all pretty much worthless and several hrs running around scouting the map out thats become dull and boring.
Tips i have been told, look for maps with at least 2 or 3 caves (maps with 0 caves are a waste of time, 1 cave ends the game very quickly, 2 prolongs it a while. at least 1 cave MUST be near a coastline, there must be a huge flatland area near the cave (trees don't block as they can be removed, but make sure there are not stone/rock piles that are irremovable).
Once you have found a map save the seed name, it will be good till an update comes out (which may change/alter that map seed for good), like others have posted here map seeds but updates have changed them for the worst so there no obsolete.
