Oh look Generic Survival game No.754
i Swear all these survival games are the same game with just a different coat of paint. They all have the same gameplay loop, same building system, same everything. If you've played one you've played them all.

Why are there so many of these games? And what makes this one any different?

isn't it like this for most games?
Like, if you ever played harvest moon you also played stardew valley or sun haven.

some similarities will always be there, but this game supposedly offers smart NPCs, whatever that means

Why? probably because there's an easy to download template for one of these games and you just build off of it. What makes it different? Nothing from what i can see it looks identical to all the others the same building system, crafting. The only thing these games do to be different is have a different art style

I dunno a lot of survival games are pretty bad but this one was pretty fun and hooked me.. It has a few issues obviously.

This is actually not the generic survival game you think it is. You haven't even played the game so it makes sense from the outside trailers and screenshots make it look like any other survival game but the addition of the villager systems and having to actually care what you are doing adds a lot to the common survival experience. This is not an upset response from me just saying how i feel it may look to you. Have a beautiful day

Honestly i think i've seen this comment about 8 or 9 times by now and each time i bought the game and believed who's said it only to be disappointed. Theres already been survival games with villagers that do "stuff" to take all the menial tasks off the players hands so they can focus on the more exciting stuff. i really can't see how this games doing that any differently.

No it's not, bro. It's just a bad joke. Read it:

I just realized that this game is 1 square kilometer x 1 square kilometer, one biom, randomly generated tiny island. It took me 10 minutes to explore the whole map.

Animals:
- deer, bear, wolf, rabbit

Monsters:
- skeleton, zombie (wight), tiny grey wooden something, tiny red wooden something, big wooden something with a bow, some jumping alien humanoid.

seriously... well the first game off the top of my head had an all time peak of 2,101,535 players Palworld where all your pals could work for you and do all the things these villagers do in Generic Survival No.754. Another one is Conan Exiles with "thralls" which are enslaved human NPC's you capture in the world have them work for you and can assign them to do just about anything.
Kelvin from the Sons of the Forest will gather resources for the players while theyre out doing things, though kelvin is kinda special needs so we'll only give him half a point.

Like i said this games doing nothing new that other survival games haven't already done. they don't have the golden goose of a game they think they do.

Personally haven't tried Palworld or Kelvin, but this is better than Conan Exiles.. I really found that to be boring.

Why do you play shooters like Call of Duty, Battlefield, Halo, Counter Strike, Doom and some other, when you could have played only Counter Strike Source or Quake 1 because all other are generic shooter no. 754 with just a different coat of paint ?

This one feels like a bunch of Store Assets slapped together. Can you believe it, the guy's name is Ragnar. Talk about lack of creativity!

something every casual gamer with zero game dev knowledge says.
Did you really just call a survival game with colony sim a generic survival game?
Aight lets do a homework.
Give me the ratio of survival games that has some hint of settlement management vs those which dont have em.
Blud really thinks creating a colony sim + survival game is generic.
