TL;DR good for your kids, or to play with your kids.

I played the demo and could tell I wasn't the target demographic, but I got the notion to buy it and let my children help me with the puzzles. I did, but they struggled with the three dimensional interface. They have no or limited experience with a mouse, my kids being under 10. Ultimately, they just wanted to watch me play through the game, and enjoyed pointing out things I may or may not have missed. It was a great 12 hours with my kids. It's perfect for kids ages 6-10, depending on when they grain proficiency with a mouse (or controller, if its compatible - I didn't check). My younger child liked the Wardrobe the most. Finding treasure chests and animals was also the highlight of their experience.

If you play with your kids as spectators, be prepared to read aloud or give them time to read for themselves, as there is no voice acting.

One part Captain Toad, one part Bridge Constructor, and several thousand little plastic parts. A fun little puzzle game with charming writing and a surprisingly deep building system.

Post-game edit: There's no endgame sandbox to play in?! I spent the whole game collecting rad themed parts, and the most I can do with them is go back and add to the stuff I built during my playthrough. Kind of disappointing, but still a recommended game.

The game is good but it have some lacking on replay.
After map mode done, then what to do?
Unless developer can allow to have sandbox mode, which allow the player to build them own map without bricks limitation, and able to upload and share the map to others players to unlock more map to play.
Hopefully developers have resources and consider the sandbox mode.

I was incredibly excited about this game for months and months, and what I played was gorgeous, engaging, interesting gameplay. The controls though, just awful! It's fine when you only have a few pieces in your build, but when the complexity increases, placing pieces becomes a metagame of its own. Forget about picking up an already placed piece, because you'll shift the mouse about three pixels and the piece will be sent into the next zip code.

It's not just controls being unresponsive, but they're unintuitive too. Shift+E or shift+Q to raise/lower a piece? Why not the mouse wheel?

Hopefully the placement issues will be patched out, but in its current state, I honestly cannot recommend it. Playing with a gamepad is a slightly better experience, but it's just much slower than mouse and keyboard, so if you're primarily a controller player, you'll probably be fine.

I'm torn on this game, I was excited to actually build stuff in game to solve problems, but my goodness is brick placement fiddly. It can be difficult to see the exact placement of a brick, particularly for more complex builds, need to place a brick at the bottom of the bridge your building for stability? The camera will not allow you to look even close to where you're trying to place it! Lack of depth perception really does not help.

Often you're given excessive amounts of bricks, problem is they are often not interesting bricks so you just don't want to bother using them, or simply due to the fact that the options of build are actually very limited due to the limited selection of bricks your provided.

The story dialogue really gets up my nose, it is not interesting and often your skipping away only for characters to suddenly come out with excessive and repetitive dialogue which really slows the pace of the game. For some reason it is not your character that talks, it's the little hovering robot that speaks for you, your character is a mute, I really do not see why.

It also has to be noted that character animations just seem off, after playing other Lego games the animation of characters in this one just don't compare in any positive way.

I will continue to play (on my Steam Deck), but the game up to now really has not been as exciting as I was expecting.

Huge dissapointment with a game I've been wanting to play for so long. The game gives you the expectation that is going to be an 8 out of 10 with it's screenshots and trailers, and it's very far from that.

Good Things
- The artwork and minimalistic stuff is beautiful
- The setting of each world and time is very attractive and well done.

Bad Things
- The camera is a complete mess. No way to rotate it unless you go to the menu and do it from there.
- There is NO FREEDOM with the buildings. You are given a very limited amount of pieces and in the end, you gotta build whatever you are asked to in the exact or similar way the devs want you to do it.
- The last world missions are terrible. Just go from point A to point B eight times and then do all that again but from point B to point A. The writer for the missions of this world should be fired right away omg.
- It's very very wierd to play a game about building and not being allowed to build your own minimalistic world.

Conclusion: 5 out of 10. The kind of game you want to like but you can't.

Um, this was pretty freakin’ bad. I was so excited for this game and I kept playing hoping to unlock more...which never happened. You're teased with content that never materializes and I would have refunded this after an hour if I had known. If you play the demo, you've essentially experienced what the entire game offers.

It absolutely misrepresents itself as a game. See below.

-A globetrotting LEGO adventure: Experience a whimsical and epic adventure around the world, packed with charming dialogue and fun secrets to unravel.
(The dialogue is sad and not compelling in the least. They should fire their writers, it's that bad. The “adventure” is a handful of small maps with limited interaction. There are no “secrets”. Controls are janky on keyboard/mouse (try aiming your water spray tool!), the camera is annoying AF, it never explains how to switch skills, and the "story" is absolute paper-thin garbage. The comedic bits simply aren't funny (joking about all the fetch quests is annoying, not humorous). Also, what's the target age group? The game itself doesn't even seem to know.)

-Beautiful diorama worlds: Explore five varied story world biomes and the amusement park hub, all fully built out of LEGO bricks.
(It *is* pretty, but very small. “Built out of LEGO bricks” is aesthetic, you can’t actually affect any environments. Winding paths and skill-locked areas means it takes time to get around, but it’s not fun and it’s *not* exploring. You also have these pretty LEGO environments that show you what you *could* build…but you’re never given the opportunity to actually do so! You don’t even get to fix the amusement park (the supposed driver of the story), just “design” a few crappy limited ride pieces and there’s literally nothing to “explore” in this area.)

-Build like never before: Discover the most intuitive brick-by-brick building in a LEGO video game, as you see your creations come to life in a three-dimensional world.
(Building system is awkward and extremely limited. Keybinding is strange and absolutely UN-intuitive. Older games have knocked building modes out of the park, so I don’t understand why this game is so, so bad.)

-Test your skills with varied puzzles: Different types of puzzles will test your building skills. Use your engineering brain in functional physics-based puzzles to build a bridge for a digger to get across a river, put your designer hat on to build a stunning new throne for the King, or customize the rides in the amusement park.
(Again, this is super limited. Practically all the builds are "puzzles" and most are pretty boring/basic. The “physics” seem to vary from puzzle to puzzle, so it’s just a lot of trial and error. The build areas are also TINY, so you can’t actually be very creative with your builds. There’s only *one* build in the entire game that actual gives you the space to build something interesting…. but it doesn’t give you a big enough selection of pieces to make it worth it!)

-Master your builds in Sandbox Mode: Unlock the Sandbox Mode upon completing a construction spot, then you go back in and improve your build with a huge selection of additional bricks from different themes.
(The “expanded” selection is actually a very limited amount/type of brick and mostly tiny decorative pieces. Sandbox mode seemed to emphasize the game limits, not expand them. A literal, flat-out lie.)

-Heaps of items to collect and unlock: Find collectables in the different dioramas and use them to buy cool new items for your wardrobe or new brick color sets for the sandbox mode.
(Again, super limited. A handful of small options for outfits. And the brick sets might unlock colors, but they don’t unlock new pieces…so you don’t really get anything new to build with.)

-Build your unique character: Create your own minifigure character from a huge selection of parts and unlock more options inspired by the worlds you visit as you progress through the story.
(No, this is a lie. There is no “huge selection of parts” to build your character, all are pretty basic/recolors. The unlockable outfits are okay, but there are only 10 of them.)

Extremely disappointing. Skip it and buy better games that are more honest about what they are, especially at this price point. Shame on LEGO. They’re the OG of creative building and this is the worst building game I’ve ever played. MySims on Wii had a better (and more creative) building system and that game is 15 years old!!!

I wish I hadn't purchased it and I want a refund!!!

(Update: The developer is deleting negative comments and banning people who make them. The Steam team reviewed and said that even though I hadn't violated any community standards in my comments the developers can ban users for any reason. So the developer is actively trying to make it look better received than it is.)

(Update 2: I showed the game to my young niece who loves Lego and her exact words were, "This is dumb. I can't build anything cool...where are all the Lego pieces?" So it's not just me!)

I play this game with my 5 year old daughter and we both love it! I walk around with the mouse and she uses the keyboard to perform tasks in the world. We theorycraft together when we need to build stuff and overall have a great blast with this game. Our 3 year old daughter loves to sit with us and watch us play. Even at her young age the bright environments and assignments are a joy to watch.

This is a nice Lego game with a story and of course a lot of puzzles. This could also be compared with a bridge simulator game.
But beside bridges there are a lot of other things that could be build like a helicopter, chairlift,...

There are different levels to play with stories and missions to complete. Once you completed something you still could change the build structure.

There are also secret passages and 'bananas' to find. With these bananas new items could be bought like clothing and new blocks.

I can recommend this new Lego game because it let the player to be creative and there is a lot to discover.
