Free build
Is there something of this quality but lets you freely build whatever you want?

Is there a mode to build anything you want?
I'd love to re-create some of the sets I had as a kid, is that gonna be possible in the game? It seems from what I've read of the sandbox mode, you stuck using the limited style blocks in the specific challenge environment.

If you just want to recreate your stuff and can get around not playing in that world so to speak just go use LEGO Bricklink's Studio. CAD software. It replaced Lego Digital Designer and pretty much has been a blessing in disguise for me. Who knows maybe down the road someone will find a way to import your stuff to this game. after a Good Sandbox update.

That would be Lego World but the game was abandoned.

I'm gonna give this a try thanks. I completely forgot about Digital Designer

Hi spylord.
Currently there is no dedicated free build mode. But its on the list for possible future improvements. ;)

But on most of the current build-spots you can activate the sandbox mode after beating the puzzle once and build any solution you want with the bricks you've already unlocked in the sandbox. (within the Bounds of the given spot of course)

If you are looking for a Lego game with a good free build mode you can try Lego Worlds...

If there was a free build, or even a user-generated content section where users could create their own dioramas and puzzles, this would be an instant buy for me.

'LittleBigPlanet but LEGO' is going to be huge as soon as someone makes it.

Try using Stud.io. It even has rendering support if you have a good gpu, and the studio that owns it (bricklink) was actually bought by lego a while back for like $30mil.

Is it possible to move a group of bricks which already stick together? This would be needed if you want to build complex structures in a "free build" mode and find out that it's better to move a certain set of bricks elsewhere. Or can you only move single stones, which would be bad? If you build a construction and find out that you need to shift the whole structure let's say one step to the right you would have to remove all bricks step by step and rebuild the whole (same) structure again (but one step to the right for example)...

From what I saw in the demo, it's a brick by brick scenario. I did try to move a built stack, but everything I tried failed. I didn't see any references to moving more than one brick at a time. Sorry.

Hi
yeah - currently it's a brick by brick building system where you have to move each brick individually. For a possible future free-build-mode we'd have to think of a solution to this - maybe some sort of composition system where you can build small structures and reuse them in a bigger context as "one build-Element" - dunno. just Brainstorming :)
