Hi tigger.
You have to press and hold shift while clicking and dragging a brick to duplicate it. this works as long as there are bricks left in the palette. Alternatively you can always pull the bricks directly from the palette. ;)

Unable to duplicate bricks. No manner of Shift+click and drags appears to work for me.

Edit: This may be an issue with the tutorial section where you have to construct a bridge to get to Grandpa. While it directs you to copy tiles, it never does function and only moves tiles as normal. Fortunately the build does not actually require pieces to be copies so it doesn't leave you stuck.

You may want to change that to avoid confusion. Also your Build Controls option tab does not mention copying tiles.

when you hover a brick and hold shift an icon should appear (2 squares) on the cursor. this indicates that duplicate is available on this brick (bricks left in the palette). Then click the brick (still holding shift) - then start moving the brick (still holding shift) -> duplicated. then you can release shift

I see the two squares, but as soon as I click and drag the tile (while still holding Shift) it just moves the tile.

Hah, agreed it is weird. lol

So the variation I tried were:
- Hover mouse over tile so it is highlighted (active state but not clicked on), hold Shift (observe that double-squared appear over tile), then click and drag tile. Result: Tile moved without being duplicated.

- With no tile highlighted, hold Shift (observe that double-squared appear over tile), then click and drag tile. Result: Tile moved without being duplicated.

- Hover mouse over tile so it is highlighted (active state but not clicked on), hold Shift (observe that double-squared appear over tile), then click on tile then click and drag tile. Result: Tile rotates then is moved without being duplicated.

- With no tile highlighted, hold Shift, (observe that double-squared appear over tile), then click on tile then click and drag tile. Result: Tile rotates then is moved without being duplicated.

In which construction-spot did this appear?

Same problem i had. two squares appear, but dragging just moves the block. I tried everything but could not get it to duplicate the block.

Build bridge to get to grandpa bit.

It occurred in the last build tutorial (Build walkway to reach Grandpa's platform) where you must build a walkway with one center post at the halfway point. As far as I can tell though, I cannot make copies in any build phase.

Edit: Added tutorial name. I also tested it while the tiles were in their stacks, unstacked, and within the viable build zone.

I also play in Windowed mode, 1366x768 resolution. Not sure if that has any affect.

Edit: Restarted the game in Fullscreen mode, but encountered the same issue, After continuing, I have found that duplicating at tile only appears to work in 'Sandbox' mode. I do not recall this being stated during the tutorial.

It should work in all spots even before the actual tutorial. I can't reproduce the issue currently but I will not sleep until I found out :D

Thanks for the additional info. ;)

Hm. having a hard time to reproduce the issue. Maybe I need some more info.

Which hardware are you on?
Which OS?

When you activate sandbox mode on a spot can you duplicate all bricks or only those from sandbox palette?

when you hover over a brick the 2 squares appear. do they disappear once you "grab" the brick by holding left-mouse button? or do they stay on until you start moving?

The two squares remain until I move the brick.
