I just played the demo and... wow this game sucks.

I'm making this post in the hopes someone developing this game will see this. When this game was announced. I thought it was a neat idea for a game. I had always thought lego games were a bit too linear and thought it was weird that you couldn't build your own solutions to problems. Today I booted up the demo and could not get past the part where you build supports for an airship because I was so angry at how terrible this game is. Let's start at the start. The tutorial segments are too long and annoying. I probably could have figured half this stuff on my own. The building controls feel quite strange though that may be due to the fact I often use stud.io in my free time and am having trouble adjusting to the new controls. But seriously? I can't crag a brick and rotate the camera at the same time? I get they're trying to make a challenge on what to build but I feel like there are too many restrictions on what you can and can't do so every solution looks exactly the same. Who at lego thought this was acceptable? Controlling your character is slippery and slow. I almost feel like lego added this to compensate for how small the maps are in order to pad out the game so it would take longer for people to try and request a refund. But by far the worst part of this game is the writing. Grandpa is one note and Rusty is annoying and one note. All of the interactions between characters feel forced and everything feels lifeless. I don't think there was any music in my time playing. If there was, I don't remember. The thing that got me to quit was when you go into the jungle and you have to help the scientist. You can see steps that lead up to the crashed airship. Now, that begs on very important question: WHY DID SHE NOT JUST WALK DOWN THE STEPS? This game just really angers and disappoints me. Just shows that TT carried these games.

It's still on the first page. I only skimmed your post but I agree. Movement felt stilted and awkward, the writing seems like it's aimed towards 8-12 year old kids and the gameplay was overly basic and restrictive. This is nobody's dream Lego game.
