As for the expansions they should have used a different type of soil then what comes out of those compost bins if you ask me as yes it is tedious and takes a long time to get the amount needed for those. Or give the compost bin a few parallel queues where we can make this so called soil. Like for instance 10 queues and the potions should apply to all running queues in that bin.
Next to that they should also give us the option to let a garden bed be overgrown with wild plants, so that it grows weeds, thistle etc but it does pick random from them with a high chance of weeds though.
I built three compost bins quickly, hoping to have them churning out soil 24/7, but two of them sit idle 99% of the time. At this rate it's a darn good thing I don't have to worry about the seasons changing any time soon.
And it's been many in-game weeks since I've found a conch on the beach, I check both there and with Shelby every day, he may have a single one like once a week or so. I keep finding the regular shells that I still don't have a use for. Probably shouldn't sell them to Shelby because the moment I need them I'll stop finding them, just like with mandrakes (and conches obviously, I got them a lot in very early game)...
Seriously. I found 4 or 5 conches on the beach on the first day and am now over two weeks in and have only found one since. Between that and the soil, I am a bit put off. I'm never one to mind a bit of grind, but if things don't spawn there isn't anything *to* grind. Kind of frustrating.
Yes I feel the spawn rates of some things could perhaps use a bit of tweaking. I like that stuff is variable, but when key progress is gated by 'Did sufficient weeds/shells/herbs spawn today?' it can get a little frustrating.
I thoroughly search every location every single day.
The thing is, I only have so much time every day to play games, and it just isn't fun to be completely progress-blocked simply because items aren't spawning. I'm not talking about having to wait one day, or even two. I've gone many, many, many in-game days without a conch spawning (literally one has spawned since the first day). And on average I'm getting 6 weeds every 7 days, so less than one per day. At that rate, I don't know man.
I really like the game; the story is well-written and interesting, the characters are compelling, and the voice-acting is superb. But just strolling around the entire island day after day hoping something spawns isn't enough fun for me to keep playing for much longer.
Here's hoping the spawn-rate for some of the items is tweaked just a tad.
I also think if every item would be available in an infinite amount, the game would not make fun anymore. Conches are rare, yes, for a reason.
6-7 Weeds per day is also pretty much fine - again i dont see a problem there.
You're not suppose to have/find 15 weeds or 5 conches per day.
