Dualsense Features wirelessly
what are the chances valve/sony give us a solution to play this game with a DS controller without being tethered by a cable?

would it not translate to the base dualsense?

does the wireless connection through steam's connect function not work unless it is connected? if it doesn't then i can save a bit more and not grab a dualsense for this

you have to disable steam input and connect the controller with a cable

This is the first game that fully supports adaptive triggers wirelessly over bluetooth. Haven't tried haptic feedback yet but according to others, it works too. They officially said, it needs a cable connection but it doesn't. And adaptive triggers work even when Steam Input and PS gamepad assistance (or whatever it's called) is active, which is also a first for dualsense features, even with a cable connection afaik. But others said you still need to disable Steam Input, so if it doesn't work with it enabled, just disable it.

The reactive triggers "work" with steam input enabled, but it has limited functionality, if not just issues.
It's better to DISABLE it when using a Dualsense controller.

Here is an example list:

- The enforcer is supposed to have two levels of pressure, each one fires a shot.
Steam Input enabled: there is only ONE level of pressure. Only a full trigger press fires the weapon.
Steam Input disabled: the two different levels of pressure WORK, and each one fires its own shot.

- The shatterbomb aiming should engage when light pressure, and fires when pushing through the resistance.
Steam Input enabled: doesn't work, no levels of pressure enables the aiming.
Steam Input disabled: works, the aiming is enabled when pressing lightly, and the bomb is fired with a full trigger.

- The burst pistol has two fire rate speeds associated with two levels of pressure. The first level is slow fire, the full pressure is rapid fire.
Steam Input enabled: doesn't work, there's only one level of pressure, and there's only rapide fire, end of story.
Steam Input disabled: works, the two levels of pressure are there, the first one fires slowly, the second one fires rapidly.

Special note: with steam input enabled (= limited features + features not working) the game was STILL hinting me on those features.
For instance, the game was telling me to light press the trigger for aiming with the bomb.
I was trying and trying and trying, and it didn't work.

(This is the thing that caused me to disable steam input for testing, and it fixed the issue.)

I play this game wireless with dualsense and have haptic feedback/triggers. I don't have to use a cable at all.

This is wrong.

I also play it wireless with steam on my dualsense controller and didn't have to do anything, it just works flawlessly. An I must say this is the best utilisation of the haptic feedback and triggers I have seen. Spiderman just had some resistance for web swinging and that was about it. Having the guns actually have different functions depending on how you use the triggers is so smart and is basically like giving you extra buttons.

Edge or OG Dualsense? Last time I check Spider-man only have AT wirelessly with OG DS so this might be the first PS game to support both?

OG launch DualSense that came with my PS5. I've paired it via Windows bluetooth settings and played the game normally. I haven't had to configure anything on Steam or in game to get the DualSense to operate wireless with all functionality working like it did on the PS5.

so has anyone compared the features as follow?

cable attached:
-steam input enabled
-steam input disable

wireless:
-steam input enabled
-steam input disabled

would be informative to know the results of each of these

Can confirm this game supports DuelSense wirelessly. Using steam input as well.

Nice to hear. Have you tried gyro with Steam Input? (assuming there are no native gyro support like PS5 version). Returnal for one have alt-fire issue with mouse input as gyro camera.

On my end:

- Steam input ENABLED + cable = Steam input ENABLED + bluetooth
In both cases, the adaptive triggers do "work" but with limited features, and the issues that I've stated in a previous message.
Bluetooth and wired feels the same, I have the same bomb issue both with cable and bluetooth for instance.

- Steam input DISABLED + cable = Steam input DISABLED + bluetooth
In both cases, the adaptive triggers has full functionality.
The multiple levels of pressure, the bomb aiming with a light press, all of those work.
I've switched from wired to bluetooth, both seems to behave the same, at least as far as the adaptive triggers are concerned.

# DISABLING STEAM INPUT makes the adaptive triggers BETTER + FIXES ISSUES.
