Well, at least now the high quality textures actually load when I change the setting, so that's nice. But in the end it's a meaningless win, because by doing that the performance still tanks like Venezuela's economy.

If the Nvidia update didn’t fix this, it must be an issue with the port on Nixxes’ end. Hard to believe that vram is the issue

VRAM does become an issue if I combine very high textures with ray tracing.

Does not quite seem fixed here. So when moving the camera I can see it drop to say 100 then when i stop it at that spot it will then jump up to 113.
13700K
AORUS MASTER Z790 F8 BIOS
32GB DDR5 7200MHz CAS34
NVIDIA FE RTX 4080

Thats NORMAL.

I don't want to go into too much detail but I'll explain it briefly:

As you move and look around, each new line of sight is calculated "on the fly". If you stand still then the load of generating movement "on the fly" decreases and the fps increase.

The change in framerate and GPU usage is normal. Stuttering is not.

Why is this way better with DirectStorage disabled tho? I don’t get arbitrary frame drops just from slightly moving the camera with nothing going on in the field of view with DS disabled, only happens when it’s on

How do we disable DirectStorage?

Remove or rename the two DirectStorage files in the games folder

Haven't noticed anything other than quick loading of levels but the rifts at high speed hasn't changed. Still notable pauses. So I would say, not fixed at all.
I actually deleted the directstorage DLLs need to double check fps but the bronze race was actually a much better experience, still freezes but less and no artefacts on 2nd big transition. Basically disabling directstorage was a better experience. I think DS is going to take a lot of time for games to get right.

If you get a chance, there's a speetle race in the challenges level at Zurkie's, where the rifts change at high speed. It's called awesome bug trax done quick. Let us know how that is for you please. Thanks.

Sounds like a ♥♥♥♥ game to me, why other games dont drop FPS while looking around? Game just feels broken

2 second freezes in between some rifts, others are okay

Same. I thought this driver was a fix for that. Maybe I misunderstood to be honest. Thanks a lot.

13600k, 3070 Ti, 32GB DDR4, and Samsung 980 Pro NVME. 1080p, Medium preset, no DLSS.

No freezes or stutters when jumping through the rift portals. Haven't removed the DS files and I'm on the Nvidia Hotfix. I did have 1 second stutters when hitting the rift crystals when trying to get to that drill thingy by riding rails in the campaign.

Also still getting FPS drops when using the Enforcer mostly, Blast Pistol is more or less better. Also the FPS drops aren't as severe as before which dropped me down to the 30s, now it's just to the low 50s but it's still noticeable.
