Such as Open Goal, a project dedicated to decompiling the Jak and Daxter Games and recompile them while getting them to run on PC hardware than to jump the hundreds of hoops for emulation.

Ontop of that, if the game files from a classic can be pulled apart, dissected and put back together; players could breathe new life into the classic games by creating mods with different types of speed runs, possibly new quests/missions/objectives and polish up the models with new texture's that the old hardware couldn't support.
I'm all for emulation, but when you want to make small or large changes or do something more, a native PC version would be badass and more appropriate to have to work with; that and I looked into what it would take to mod Ratchet: Deadlocked/Gladiator... There is so much that has to be tagged and ID'd, I do not envy the team behind Horizon who make the map and new game mode mods got the thing; there is SOOOO much that goes into it...

Power Stone 2 on PSP was pretty ♥♥♥
Who cares?
People back then didn't care about some stupid fluff that tells you that you did a thing.
If anyone really wants achievements for old games, that's where the integration of Retro Achievements[retroachievements.org] comes in.
Who in this world cares about this other than you? Some games back then come with their own statistics so emulators don't necessarily need to count everything you do in a game.
If you want a playtime counter, some emulators do provide just that.
That sums up for every old PC game out there. Even some modern PC games still require tweaking to fix issues like stuttering and crashing. Tweaking things isn't exclusive to emulators.
The beauty of console games is that you don't need to do all that and thus, emulators of consoles would just let you play the games with no problems, especially the old ones.
That's heavily false.
Emulators have the capacity to run games straight from the disc in your PC.
Dumping your own copies of games for personal use is legal and it's precisely how it's even possible to get console games in a PC file format that emulators can read in the first place.
Then don't be an ♥♥♥♥♥ by going to sites that are known for having viruses...
There's plenty of ROM hacks for many old games, especially ones for Mario and Sonic.
Translation and texture/sprite hacks are like the common types of old-school modding.
Even model replacements and gameplay mods are possible for emulated modern games.
Of course having a native PC port is significantly better because that means the system requirements will be less demanding for newer games and there won't be any inaccurate glitches which are the real issues of emulation while all you have are just disingenuous statements about emulators. Or "emo-lators" in your words which is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ childish.
You shouldn't undermine emulators like that, they're very important for the preservation and accessibility of old games that companies don't care too much about.

I always think back to when asked in an interview if another Chrono series game was in the works, the person from Square Enix being interviewed laughed and said buy the DS port of Chrono Trigger if you want to prove it will sell, or something along those lines. Sad, but true.
Poor Sly Cooper left on a cliffhanger because Sony refused to fund the planned DLC due to poor sales of the fourth game...
