Please support 4:3 and 16:10 aspect ratio too!
I don't mind if cutscenes are letterboxed, but please allow us to play the game utilizing our full monitor!

I'm sorry but no, new display technology visually dumps on CRT's.

The only and fleeting advantage to CRT is latency and sub-native resolution clarity.

There is a whole community buying CRTs for it's visual qualities. I think there was a Digital Foundry video on it. Maybe look that up. There's more to it than you think.

EDIT: Lol, of course there is a DF video on it - right in the post I quoted. Oops. xD

I own CRT's, BVM's and PVM'S. Wrong tree.

Also 5:4

CRTs look good, so does OLED, both have the disadvantage of fading quality over time though

Might as well support the whole rainbow lmao. The issue with 16:10 is it a tiny bit taller, what mess up is the fact it was norm for short time then got taken over by 16:9 so fast like geez. Also 4:3... Really.

What's wrong with implementing it for the people who would like to play that way?

I refuse to buy R&C until the game comes out on floppy disk. /s

For real though, I've been playing this series since the first one dropped on PS2 and I'm looking forward to a few more playthroughs of Rift Apart.

Mostly because it doesn't get supported by a lot of games, other issue is fov so that can vary either being ok if you can set it, or awful because it fixed, lower resolution is what it is I mean it can be ok, but if want something visually nice for high texture games it not happening, and I'm refering to displays, not cameras that does 4:3 or such as they can do WAY higher resolution capture, and latesly for dis / advantage in some games compare to those with higher aspect ratio, this can vary on said games. Example CSGO can give you some what an advantage using 4:3 as make things wider for hitbox, and crosshair.

Not say those that want to play it that way is bad, just shouldn't expect to get same deal as those that using wide screen, TBH if I want to use 4:3 for sake of gaming I would look towards CRT for sure most likely retro gaming, but newer modern games that not likely to happen due to their design, and not willing to support it as most common you see these days are either wide screen, or ultrawide screen. So those on 4:3 expecting all games to support them, that long gone into the past, so indie games may support them mostly than AAA gaming compaines.

I don't want to play in 4:3 either. But I don't see a single good reason why it shouldn't be implemented for the people who want to play that way. And Nixxes seems to think the same, since Amazing Spider-Man Remastered supported every aspect ratio from 4:3 to 48:9. So there's a good chance this one will as well.

And regarding 16:10, you guys forget that this is a very relevant aspect ratio nowadays because of the Steam Deck (and possibly other handhelds as well, not sure).

It's mostly depends on whom handing the camera draw distance, fov so things don't look weird, or awful, and not cutting off screen for possible important display info might need, as in some cases you may see things if using wide aspect compare to using square aspect, it just depends as not all games treated same way.

If you're that big of an enthusiast for CRT hardware, there are 16:9 options, the "HD CRTs", tho it's expensive as all hell, I don't think that if something doesn't really support your 4:3 scale, you can really complain. You're actively putting on ankle weights and trying to swim.

It's like the "audiophile" stuff, your FLAC files might sound better on your $10.000 audio setup but let's not pretend a normal pair of headphones make the songs unlistenable. CRTs may well offer better visual quality but let's not pretend like OLED displays are THAT much worse where if you happen to play on one, you can't help but cringe.

With all that said, I hope the game supports your obsucre setup, it's only for the best when the game can run on almost anything, without a doubt. But I also think you shouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. I pray for you.
