You can also use Windows HDR calibration tool to set this in Windows so colors look fine in HDR as well
HDR pops on my OLED
Agree
Try the Windows HDR calibration tool it also explains how to calibrate it makes a huge difference, not all displays are calibrated.
I have a LG ultrawide it looks better then SDR also 600 nits, altho you are right about the zones probably needs more im not sure how many mine has.
If it is an OLED it doesn't have zones. Each pixel is individually lit and can also reach true black (turned off) but the G7's are VA panels.
It's a ultrawide nano IPS i think it has 12 zones but its probably less
Im not a fan of something that burns in i often have windows always at same places on desktop so i would get burn in with oled wish there where more mini led displays tho especially ultrawides at 240hz that aren't from Samsung.
Follow Drew9140's steps. This is what fixed it for me.

After this, download Windows HDR Calibration from the Microsoft Store, and use it to tweak some things for some finishing touches.
Once I got the G7 settings to my liking (see above), I just keep HDR mode on. It's subtle, yeah, but the blue's and red's still really pop. That's good enough for me.
you make it go till the square is invisible and not 1 step further
Every VA if owned had 10+ dead pixels on it worst was 20+ dead pixels VA aren't worth it, and they often look glitched until warmed up as they age.
VA tech doesn't inherently have more dead pixels. Just saying VA or IPS doesn't denote quality either. Samsung G7's have the best VA on the entire market. No other VA is worth purchasing for gaming.
If never in my life seen dead pixels only bright one's and very rarely until i got Samsung VA like G9 bunch of times, returned many times gave up after receiving a doa without dead pixels but flickering pixel aray delivery person dropped corner on the pavement i think box had drag marks.
