It's a game about different dimensions, and concepts of this nature exist in plenty of other mediums.
Still the gender bending with Rivet & Kit for the main characters to be the alternatives of Ratchet & Clank is "convenient" in this case.
While you have height / color differences for others main characters like Doctor Nefarious and Emperor Nefarious or Quantum and Qwark
Convenient for what?
People here are mad you "are afraid of a female character" are simply troglodytes that don't understand that fans want the main character at least 50% of the time - reminds me of Uncharted with the two ladies... I'd rather buy Tomb Raider than play Uncharted without Nate.......
Rivet and Kit are both pretty interesting characters, but the game is a let-down overall.
As a Ratchet and Clank die hard fan, I see nothing wrong with adding new mechanics, or going off the beaten path, but there is a certain standard that must be met when it comes to these games.
Other than that, the game is beautiful, and overall the mechanics are decent, and remind me of other Ratchet and Clank games, this one just fails to hit the bar.
Honestly there is absolutely 0 game-play difference in terms of ratchet and rivet, you keep all unlocks and all weapons between both, it's just a way to tell the story from multiple angles, I never feel the desire to return to ratchet when playing rivet or the other way around.
It's on the other hand a really good way of allowing them to have the characters doing something at the same time and driving a story forward.
I grew up with the original Ratchet and clank games, and when rivet ran off with clank I was like Oh god playing ratchet is going to end up feeling like deadlocked again please no, but I quickly realized they added hover boots and other things to compensate meaning you never feel crippled and never loose your movement mechanics.
I am still biased towards the original trilogy, but I do think the game bits and polish puts this game above the future series by far.
It's a bit cumbersome having to sift through the troglodyte replies here as you put it lol, but yeah - I agree with your point. Use the series to introduce the character then see where it leads.
The fact this RYNO basically drops rocks from the sky and plays NO background music like in games gone past, what a joke for what's always been a super fun item to hunt down over the course of the game.
I've played enough of Ratchet & Clank games, it's always pretty much the same plot, same characters, same stuff.
New character? Refreshing.
Just allow Ratchet to get his closure.
