Why is this port so bad?
Lets preface this with a few things.

RTX 2080
i7 9900
32 GB 3200hz DDR4 ram
Running from an NVME SSD

In the opening scene, I get literally 20 fps and it doesnt matter what settings I turn on or off. I turned all settings.. and I mean ALL settings to their lowest. Even the resolution down to 800 x 600.

While there are obvious port issues, when looking up the issue, it seems like what I have is a strange outlier. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am on the newest drivers and everything else is updated. I tried setting dlss on with every single style in the menu and they provide no additional frames. GPU usage is completely pinned at 100% no matter what settings are there.

Edit: I have also tried deleting the files for direct storage with no helping the situation at all.

Honestly seems to be an nvidia issue , or do you have Nvidia IO , Reflex , and rt enabled? disable those seems to fix most issues for people.

Yes, I posted that in my original statement. Literally turned everything to lowest/off for everything.

So, depend on the fact that this game runs totally playable on a 2080@8700K 32 GB 3200hz DDR4 i would say that something on your system is faulty.

Try deleting the direct storage files in the game folder. There should be 2 of them, I have a 4090 and a 13600k + a gen 4 SSD sn850x one of the best on the market and the direct storage make this game stutter like mad. Deleting them I get smooth frames with max settings and dlss 3 with RT and it runs sweet

I should have mentioned that in my original post. I have already tried that. I never had crashing issues, which is what that is said to fix so much. Its all the performance, and that had no impact at all.

Which is not NORMAL on your system. Your GPU/CPU/nVME Combo should be able to load 24GB/sec

have you done a directstorage benchmark to see if your system is working properly?

No I haven't. I'll look up wtf that even is and ill be back to comment again once I try it.

The port is not bad, it's all Windows's fault. The game runs perfectly on Linux. Some solutions include deleting the DirectStorage files, this says it all.

4.25 gb loaded in 0.93 seconds for that benchmark.

My comment was for user "obb" because of: 4090 and a 13600k + a gen 4 SSD sn850x

But the important value in this benchmark is the line with: Bandwidth

4.46 gb per second

As I wrote, the game seems well playable on 2080@9900k 32GB DDR4 3200

If it only runs at 20fps, the fault is in your system.

Thats hard to say. According to everything we know, I am using well recommended hardware on an operating system that MANY of us use, which is Windows 11. My system is not very different from other people on this platform but people who have seemingly identical systems run fine.

Check your wattage... WHEN WILL THIS ISSUE BE RECOGNIZED FFS
Especially when it's a repeating issue from their past ports

I have already refunded, but my power draw in MSI afterburner was about 30%. Does this correlate to wattage usage?
