Glad to hear you got your save file back. I was just about to suggest the same thing Mimh did.

Also, it may be worth investing into an external backup drive and running local backups every so often of your entire PC. It’s definitely saved me plenty of times.

almost ideantical thing happened to me. Accidentally deleted my progress when exiting the game. For some reason hit triangle…
I downloaded a save game from steam cloud. But where do I place it? I tried via steam - user data - specific number for Rift Apart. Didn’t work? Any help is much appreciated!

Place it under
C:\Users\USER\Documents\Ratchet & Clank - Rift Apart\{Some ID}
Replace the slot{SlotId}-s.save file

I had a similar issue, must have deleted my save by accident. I didn't have any issues with antivirus though as all those protected folder settings were already off.

I downloaded my latest cloud save backup and then tried and failed a few times. Finally got it working by renaming the backup file, just removed:

Ratchet & Clank - Rift Apart_76561197971573489_

from the beginning of the file, and:

.backup01

from the end of the file.

I had also before that started a new game which created a save file without backup in the filename, not sure if that did anything but it's what prompted me to edit the backup file name and now I have my save back!

Cancel that! Deleting the parts you mentioned actually worked for me, except for the save regular file?! Not the downloaded one from cloud.

hello i Have tried to rename it the way you guys have said, and it still won't load the save back up

Same issue for me. Downloaded file and tried sticking it in the folder and no luck. Even after trying I replace it with the -user pewds.save file and whatever. Idk how to make it apply
