Upgraded to 32Gb, now the game crashes...
Hey there!

I've played this game in my gaming PC:
-Window 11 Home 22H2
-GPU: Nvidia RTX 3060Ti (Drivers updated)
-CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G
-RAM: 1x16Gb
-SSD 1Tb

I played the full game, it may have crashed 3 times, I had some frame drops below 60 fps using medium settings, but it was a playable experience for me.

Since I only had 1 stick of RAM (16Gb) and I was thinking to upgrade to dual channel for some time, I thought it was a good time to try it out. I decided to get 32Gb (2x16Gb) DDR4 3200MHz.

So, I installed the RAM and everything seems to be fine with the PC.

I tried the game, the performance was a lot smoother, but now I can't stay in game for 5 min.. the game keeps crashing...

I look in the discussion page and I found some people saying their game keeps crashing, some of them shared their PC config and they had 32Gb of RAM also... Is it just coincidense?

Can the crashes be related to 32Gb of RAM?

I wish I could help you, but all I can say is that I too have 32g of DDR (5) and so far the game has only crashed on its very 1st startup, just before the menu. Since then, I've logged quite a few hours and nothing to report.

Maybe just a silly question: have you put your ram in the Dimm A2 and Dimm A4 slots on your motherboard?

I'm not an AMD specialist, but on recent Intel hardware, that's how it's done. At worst, look at your motherboard manual, where it says where to put 2 memory strips.

If it was running fine before on your config, I think the problem is somewhere else.

I have a pre-built pc, it is a Lenovo Legion T5 26AMR5, so.. I don't have the motherboard manual.
I put my RAM on DIMM2 and DIMM4 (That's how they're labled)

did you check the xmp profile in bios if your single stick mhz was different try disabling the xmp restart the try the game if works then go back into bios and re-enable the xmp at 3200 mhz

Yes, checking XMP profiles is a good idea.

Can you also check on the manufacturer's website, if the ram you bought has been tested with this hardware? normally manufacturers list the type of memory that has been tested with your hardware. because sometimes there can be compatibility problems.

or sometimes at some Ram manufacturers the hardware is listed like here for example
https://www.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/lenovo/lenovo-legion-t5-26amr5#memory

I'll see if I can find the compatible memory type on the Lenovo site.

+1 Are both RAM sticks the exact same brand, model, and speed type? If they are not it’ll limit the other one. That can be important. Otherwise, it can have weird compatibility errors. Other times, it works fine. It just depends.

Also, make sure you look at your motherboard’s manual to make sure that new stick of memory you bought is compatible with your motherboard and your XMP (or the AMD equivalent) profile is supported. Often on the manufacturers website, you can find an entire list of supported RAM. Also make sure you put them into the correct slots (if it’s a 4 slot mobo).

Also i want to add.

Evene if you Bought lets say Corsair 8gb model X
before and buy it half a year later it could be Literarily so different that it doesnt work anymore great together.

Ram is ♥♥♥♥ if you buy it on different times or add different brands.

I think my BIOS don't support XMP, the only options I have on Memory Overclocking are "Auto Load JEDEC" and "Manual (3200MHz)"

Indeed. It can definitely cause issues if they are different brands, speeds, and models.

Yes, Those were the only ones I could find that were compatible with my system..
I bought the Crucial Pro 32Gb DDR4 3200MT/s (CP2K16G4DFRA32A)

I've found the lenovo page for your pc, now I just need to find the compatible modules, but I can't see them at the moment.

Yes, they're both the same.

if you try auto JDEC? is there any improvement?
how fast does memory run with this setting?

They're the same and I bought it at the same time.
