Weird Performance Glitch - CPU Throttling (?) / Audio Crackling
I'm having and extremely weird issue that makes the game pretty much unplayable. The game stops using the CPU for a bit and produces the issue that can be seen in the video;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nYWjDi9rmhc

These are my specs:
· RTX 2070 SUPER
· i5 10600K 4.10Ghz
· 32 GB of RAM

And my Settings:
· 1920x1080
· DLSS - Dynamic 90
· Vsync - OFF
· Nvidia Reflex - OFF
· Texture Quality - Medium
· Filter - 16x
· Shadow - Medium
· DoF Medium
· Detail Level - Medium
· Traffic Medium
· Hair - High
· AO - HBAO+
· SRR - High
· Particles - High
· RT - OFF

Things I've tried:
· Deleting the "dstorage.dll" files
· Setting the App Priority to Realtime in the Task Manager
· All Texture Qualities
· All Graphics Presets

I also have the last drivers for everything.
As you can see in the video, performance, when not doing that weird thing, is perfect, I get around 80-90 FPS. But then the glitch strikes and it does it every 10-30 seconds, making the game unplayable.

Any ideas? Thanks a bunch!

I really can't tell what's going on. It's not "performance" per se, it must be something completely different, since the performance is great when the issue doesn't appear. I suspect it has either something to do with RTX IO or the way the game uses the CPU to stream assets and resources.
I meet the requirements, and I've played for a bunch in case it has something to do with loading things into memory, hoping it autosolves the longer I play, but it's the opposite; the longer I play, the worse it gets.
It's a shame, I love R&C, and I really like this one. I hope a hotfix accidentally solves the issue since I haven't found anyone with the same issue apart from you.

I believe there is an issue with hitscan, especially with fast weapons like the fully updated blast pistol. If you shoot enemies with it, it really tanks the CPU a lot but happens with all weapons. For example, CPU usage sits around 30% with 100+ FPS, but when you start to shoot enemies and actually hit them, CPU usage blasts to 90-95% and the FPS drops to 20-30. What could actually happen is that your CPU may overheat and throttle down, causing audio crackling that normalizes after 20-30 seconds.

No no, it's the opposite, when the issue appears, CPU usage tanks to like 10-15% at most. And the temps stay at normal levels, below 70-75ºC. I really have no clue.

I have the exact same issue, except for me, the problem occurs for a much longer duration.

Today, I was able to play the game for over two hours without any sound problems, but the issue returned after restarting my game...

The cutscenes are perfect, and I can play decently, yet the sound is absolutely terrible. Have you found a solution since July 29th, or are you waiting for an update ?

I have this issue but, I never got to have it as a minor problem. The audio crackling for me has been a constant. Sure I can run the game at the minimum requirements and that's that but so can I with other games that run relatively like this one but they have no audio issues,

If you don't cap the fps to 60 in modern games then you lose the right to complain about performance issues. This is just the situation with 90% modern games now, so stop being a 144hz lover and deal with it.
All these sony ports are ass on terms of performance. everyone of em we have some sort of major problems with em. Cant even blame the average person pc for this anymore. Ill say this game runs best on my steam deck vs my more powerful pc.
