gpu 99% usage temp only 70C?
i know for a fact that 99% of my GPU cant be cooled that hard so whats this game doing lmao?

i was so confused cause both spidermans i could run full settings and my GPU would run 95 ish% and temps would actually go up and perform, here it does 99% and im having to turn things down and my GPU temp isnt raising at all

Different games use card resources differently. For example, i have in the "Metro Ex", the power consumption is 430w, and in "Callisto Protocol" it is about 300w, and in both cases the card usage is 99-100%

You'll also see low power consumption in addition to low temps. It's because of VRAM. Lower texture quality to high from very high and you'll see temps go higher and frame rate getting better. I had the same problem.

What does VRAM have to do with low power consumption? How does reducing the quality of textures affect the increase in temperature? I don't have anything like that, and this is the first time I hear about it.

Different games will use GPU in different ways. Especially the ones using RT, since it switches from rasterization to ray tracing, which is a different part of GPU.

I don't know the mechanics behind it, Apparently the game has a problem where it tries to fill VRAM endlessly, texture streaming gets stuck or something. Lowering the texture quality to high(cuz apparently due to this bug 8 gigs or even 12 gigs aren't enough for max texture quality despite the recommended system reqs) will fix it. That 100% GPU usage seems to be GPU doing constant texture streaming which will also tank the frame rates. So when you lower tq, the problem will become less severe, GPU will start using it's resources to actually draw frames and temps & power consumption get normalized as a result. I tried and it worked for me.

I turned textures to low but still have this issue. RTX 2070 Super, my GPU is only drawing 80W even at 100% usage. As a result, I'm barely getting 15fps. I had this issue in RE4 and Dead Space Remake as well but only at certain times.

Game suffers from horrific VRAM management. Don't worry, even gamers with 4090 has this issue.

You want your card to be at 99% - 100% load, that means your card is doing its job.
Wattage will vary depending on how demanding the game is.
70c sounds about right. I see nothing abnormal about these numbers.

You can have 100% load with low power consumption. That tells something is wrong.

That completely negates your comment on my post with a similar issue.

Less demanding games draw more power than this port - how the **** is that possible if not due to a crappy port? Sorry for being blunt it's just so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating, nothing personal of course.

That doesn't negate what I said. 100% load doesn't mean it's capping out. If you put the game on low, it's still going to read 100% or 99%. The only time you get anything less than 100% is when you play something that is significantly older, like Fallout 2 or something.

Wattage WILL vary depending on how demanding the game is, but what the game is doing will vary the wattage being used. In your example of Diablo 4, there are some somewhat more memory intensive things going on, such as loading players (specifically because when you load a player in D4, you load not just them, but their entire stash and inventory)

Honestly though, as I said in my first comment to you on the other thread, just ditch the damn laptop and you can stop worrying about wattage. I only ever hear laptop users whine about that. Learn how your hardware works or just get a console.

Sure buddy, you're all over the place but I'm the one whose lacking knowledge in hardware. Look thanks for the input, seriously. But let's just leave it here. This discussion is going stale.

It's not all over the place. It's not my fault you don't know how your hardware works.

It is a usage. 100% usage means exactly that: GPU is being used at 100%. There is no performance left to squeeze out of it. Also, the reason why Fallout 2 will not reach 100% is because it has locked framerate. Age has nothing do with it, not directly. Unless the game is capped, or framelimiter is in use, or CPU is bottlenecking, GPU will render the game as fast as it possibly can. Which is to say it will run at 100%. Even Serious Sam 1 from 2001 will tank the GPU to its maximum unless you artifically limit FPS.
