Cant get game to launch :(

Hey All,

Was wondering if anyone else had the same issue and resolved it.

Running a 3080 Ti , 5600x, 16gb ram and installed to a SSD.

Tried to fiddle with all the settings, disable AV, run game in admin etc , the typical google fixes but nothing has worked. contacted nixxes too , but no reply yet.

If you installed on C drive could also be a third party protection software blocking it if you have one. Also try a verify files in steam.

Also explain the exact behavior that happens. Does it launch at all?

Hi there. Are you having an issue after pressing "start"? If so, could you try turning off Windows Audio under Services on your computer? Once it's off, try to re-launch the game. It will launch with no audio, but should help pin-point the issue if it does launch.

nope game is installed on a separate ssd and also added the folder to windows defender exclusions.

so after hitting start on launcher it crashes or i get as far as the sony presents screen and it crashes

crashing at boot from the launcher

4070ti ASUS TUF GPU
5800x CPU
32 gigs of ddr4 ram at 3200mhz
980 PRO 2tb
gpu and bios updated to current drivers
Put in ticket with Nixxes still waiting on response

Im having issues regarding immediate crashing after hitting play on the launcher sometimes i can get maybe a frame showing the sony interactive entertainment to show up but after that its an instant crash with the sony error message showing up and i hit accept and report and try and fiddle with the settings in the launcher again. Honestly at my wits end on what to do.

Same issue here. I will able to play the game yesterday and today it don't load for access violation.

I found a problem with windows defender. It block a fil in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Ratchet & Clank - Rift Apart\d\conduit
Fake Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml detect as false positive

On windows settings > go to security > protection history > found the Ratchet and Clank blocked file and restore it

I have the same issue. I’m able to get the game to launch if I stop Windows Audio service before running the game, however this will disable all audio at the OS level so you won’t hear anything. In Task Manager this service is named Audiosrv. Try stopping the service and relaunching the game. Lemme know if it works; I’m curious how many others have the same issue as me.

Try stopping the Windows Audio service before launching the game. It’s called Audiosrv in task manager. This allows me to launch the game, but without audio obviously. If I restart the service after the game has launched, it immediately crashes.

You're all running some common background program / driver that's causing the issue.

It depends on your mobo manufacturer, but during boot, hit whatever hot key it displays to enter bios (i think DEL usually), then from there disable the onboard audio device. I will be trying this when I get back home this weekend. I have an Asus X570-E.

i've got a Aorus B550 Master. I'll probably try doing a CMOS reset who knows
