Hover Boot's broken?

Any one else having issues getting the hover boots to boost with L2? It only seems to want to work about 40 percent of the time for me.

Enable the Auto boost feature in the settings to help out. I've noticed my auto boost only engaged after a second boost. Never boosts on the first use of the hover boots.

You have to press L2 a few times; if you have tutorials on, the game will mention this, but it only pops up once for a little bit so it's easy to accidentally skip.

There was a topic covering this issue earlier. Usually if they don't boost I make a tiny hop and it usually allows me to boost when I land.

I get that you have to repeatedly press L2 to get up to full boost speed but in my case after holding down R1 to begin hovering the boost will not activate no matter how many times L2 is pressed until I release R1 and press R1 again. After messing around for awhile I figured out that somehow the input is tied to frame rate because If I switch to 60hz from 120hz it works as intended. Oddly enough it just happens that the boost only works every other time R1 is pressed and held down.
