Is this a real game or a typical PS interactive movie?
I mean, is this game about long interesting platforming levels or about short pseudo-gameplay segments which are constatnly interrupted by long cutscenes?

Technical showcase for the PS5, and classic Ratchet and Clank gameplay. IMO it's a real game, but that's my opinion. I bought this on PS5, and bought it again here on PC as I personally love this game. I rarely do 100% completion on games, and this is one the platinum trophies I got. I plan do to the same on PC.

it has solid gameplay though I did hear complaints about typical modern gaming backseating. I suggest picking the hardest difficulty, even then the game is not very difficult. anything less is for kids or beginners.

It does have backseating unfortunately, it can get a little bit annoying at times. It does make me feel like I'm playing an actual video game, though, rather than watching a movie. There's no agenda here either, just a good ol' classic video game brought to modern graphic standards.

Are you brand new to Ratchet and Clank games? They've always had solid gameplay.

well it is a platformer for kids, just like any other R and C game so I do not expect really a Dark Souls difficulty, but yes, I am about to play at the highest difficulty.

Basically yes, but knowing modern PS games I was just wondering if the plague of making everything cinematic with much less gameplay affects this game as well

Ah, you sweet summer child then you don't know a majority of the design crap that went on behind the scenes.

Good call. I've always played every Ratchet and Clank at highest difficulty. It's really needed to get proper enjoyment out of it, otherwise it's too easy. It's really fun though, leveling up weapons gets addicting. I Platinum trophied this game over on PS5 within a week of launch. It's cool to see it come to PC, but judging by some graphical glitch complaints, I would wait a bit to pick it up until they release some patches.

There's definitely challenging platformers, especially ones from the 80s and 90s

Insomniac, sadly, is the only internal playstation studios that makes games now.
R&C now is the oldest PS ongoing franchise and its gameplay was always solid

It's just like most game's on Playstation this day & age a really cool fun game that is also very short not particularly a bad thing but I do overall wish these game's were longer like the Spider-Man game's there incredibly fun but you can legit do like the majority of the content in a single night so they suck in that experience.
