Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart PC - Frame Gen Causes Screen Tearing/Stutter
I have a 4090 and i9-13900K. I'm playing on an LG C2 (120hz screen). When I use Frame Gen in-game, I get screen tearing/stutter. I have G-Sync On, set Global V-Sync to On, and capped the framerate to 115fps in Nvidia Control Panel (not in-game). V-Sync is off in-game. No dice.

When I disable frame-gen, I do not get the screen tearing anymore. However, if I keep all other settings maxed out, I have to use Dynamic Resolution Scaling to maintain my fps. That's not ideal.

Is there any way I can use frame gen without the screen tearing? I never had this problem with Spiderman Remastered using frame gen. It has no issues whatsoever. In fact, I just tried it again now to confirm that it's working with the same settings. I have even researched answers on this for other games with frame gen, but nothing has worked so far.

Any ideas?

Turn off the manual frame cap

Reflex in-game will automatically cap it to 117 if you enable vsync in NVCP and it’s flawless

Let the frame gen do its job, should never use anything to cap the frame rate when it is on... (except G-Sync). You may use the excuse fullscreen also.

I have your exact build and TV. Just turn frame-gen off. The game runs 115-118 fps at 4k with raytracing on and everything else maxed. There's no reason to "fake" frames when you can just render them naturally.

I think the rule is that turning off frame gen usually will disable vsync. Your sensitivity may vary, but for most games (except diablo 4 for me) I don't find frame gen worth the stuttering. I usually always notice something off in the presentation.

That's not true. 4090 even with DLSS 2 (not 3) activated it goes to 50-80fps in heavier areas. The first map of the game is very light compared to more open areas later.

I have exactly the same issue, noticed it on Sargasso. 4090 with LG C1 (GSync).
I have never had such issue in Spiderman too.

I don't trust their Dynamic Resolution Scaling. I decided to use DLSS and frame gen. off instead of Native / DLAA + FG. Not ideal for 4090 but better than frame generation causing artifacts.

Absolutely not true. Unless you use DLSS for upscaling
Are you still on the first or second planet ? Everything is fine there, the mess comes later, on Sargasso, including broken AO (only SSAO works properly, RTAO and HBAO cause flickering reflections and shadows on water).

Exactly same issue here as well (4090, 13900k, LG CX with gsync on). Camera movement is not smooth at all with FG even though framerate is much higher than without it. Only other game for me that had the same issue was Plague Tale Requiem. It was fixed in the first patch after launch.

After playing for longer time, I think the issue is present mostly on Sargasso. Maybe the huge amount of particles in the air is causing this, I don't know. Disabling motion blur mitigates the issue a bit.
I don't see this on other planets or at least it's not too noticeable so I switched back to FG.
