Your performance may actually be fine
So I didnt mess with the game too much yet but initially and as I was tweaking settings, performance really sucked, it was all over the place maxing at 45 fps and going below 30 for seemingly no reason.
So with a random combination of game restarts and PC reboot, I tried again and now I get a solid 60 or real close to it!

I have a 3070 and seems locked at 60fps @1440p with everything very high (no RT) and DLSS.
I tried again with all ray tracing at lowest, DLSS performance and fps barely dips below 60.
I did have to restart the game again though because it ran like ass initially.

It could be that certain setting combinations cause issues but I would say it seems like there is a bit of a bug and it's not poor optimisation or anything like that.
I was rather bummed with performance but now it seems actually quite good even with RT

VSYNC is broken. Put it on Half, restart the game and then you'll be capped at your monitors refresh rate. Fiddling with anything in DISPLAY will turn VSYNC on which caps you at 60FPS or 30FPS.

I'm running this on Arch with GE-Proton and once I put VSYNC on Half the game ran like a dream. 144FPS no issues. The port is great, just some bugs.

Yeah I don't mind the Low Settings I just don't want to over heat my Rig. When I have those settings my fan slightly makes a little noise. If I turn it to 1080p, no fans are making noise.

"I have a 3070 and seems locked at 60fps @1440p with everything very high (no RT) and DLSS."

So... On better GPU than PS5 (~RTX2070), but on lower resolution that PS5 (60fps mode renders ~1800p) and then with the help of DLSS, you are finally on that 60fps sweet spot...
Yup, the optimization is not great, even system specs posted by the devs are good proof fot that.

Not to mention that "dark magic" with rebooting PC/restarting game and re-entering menus to make the game stable and smooth, this is a further proof that the port is not okey...
And 60$...
Greedy $ony.

Coming from someone who's running it on a 3070, you're lying. I get between 40-60, maybe a little more than that on high/ultra settings with RT at high at 1080p. It's not badly optimized

Because you're literally running it at 1080p, these people are talking about running it on an 3070 in 2K. Read bro

its a common bug with the graphic settings.
If you change something, make shure to restart the game too get the full perfomance, otherwise FPS will drop a lot.
This was unfortunatly never fixed, but is reported wide in the net.
So i found out about it.
(same as the the dsstorage.dll tip: deleting them can help with microstutters)

So always restart if you change a setting in graphic. (only hitting in and out does not harm the fps)

hope this can help

While playing this game i ran into a system hang out that lead to a BSOD. I know that BSOD is most of the times hardware related, but this was literally the only game and only time i got a BSOD in my current system build. Before that i was playing a graphically intensive Cyberpunk 2077 that utilized everything there is in modern PC and could play for hours straight without a single issue even with the mods installed.. like literally WTF? I havent played Ratchet since that but i have tweaked some settings that ppl recommend - deleted direct storage DLLs, updated my samsung 980 pro firmware, disabled nvidia reflex.. will see how it goes.
The performance was fine i guess? I was playing intro sequence, maxed out 4k, DLAA and frame generation (it forces reflex on+boost).

I played at max settings with a 3070 (including RT effects ON) and it was terrible - constant hitches, lag spikes, game freezes, and slow loading times during dimensional rifting. Then my SATA SSD died out of nowhere while playing the game, got a new NVME M2 SSD and boom - there were no more issues.

That's my experience of the game at least. I'm sure on lower settings this game will run fine for most people, but I'm more of a graphics guy so I crank everything to the max.

I'm experiencing the exact same problem; when the game launched I tried it with this same system and it ran fine, maybe some hitches here and there but other than that it was fine, now I constantly get a BSOD related to driver crashes, using the latest Windows 11 and latest drivers, as well.

Welp, reporting back; the game default to the "high" preset, which consumes a ridiculous amount of VRAM and RAM, usually this should cause the game to drop significant performance when playing it, or even crash the game; in this game though? It crashes the entire system because it makes the graphics driver crash on my system...

I ended up reducing the graphics only one notch below "high" to "medium" drop some post processing effects -for personal preference, not so much because of the performance gain-, and I'm happy to announce I finished the game.

Still, it wasn't such a nice experience because of this, the fact the game crashes your system, before crashing itself, plus the fact it defaults to the "high" preset, independently of the system you have is a mistake.

So be it, in a couple of years with new hardware across all it won't be such an issue, but still.
