It runs fine except on those dimension shifts where Ratchet falls through the purple rifts. The game will hang up with the character model stuck in mid-air waiting for the HDD to catch up.

It doesn't take long but it's not a great experience.

Come on guys, SSD have been around for more than 10 years....
Whether it does run great on an HDD or not should not even be asked as of now...
It's like a time machine back in 2005 when people were asking if installing Xbox 360 games to the HDD would improve loading times.

Console users will laugh at you, who does use such thing in 2023 ?

Also, the cinematics might be out of sync if it's not on an SSD.

This is definitely running like crap on HDD, I was curious and decided to install it on my laptop that has an HDD. This is completely awful and unplayable on it. Constant stuttering here and there, freezes between rifts. On my desktop with nothing but NVMe SSDs, I have no hiccups. Everything has been smooth so far, so Sony and Insomniac was not lying at all.

I never had any stuttering outside of cut scenes and the rift sequences. Ran well enough--but I think you'd have to have some decent specs to make up for it.

Still switched back to SSD though lol

Yeah, the laptop is a bit old (2019) but it ran impressively well aside from the random stutters. It was totally the HDD, I had Xbox Gamebar with the overlay showing a few things, and the HDD kept hitting 100%. It did not like that one bit. :7Days1:

I will stick with my desktop anyway. :cinnamon2:
