You need catch a fox item, 3 and 4 tails fox.
Can be found at cave floor 26-29 when pick something in floor and look on the details, you will see (smells like a beast, make sure you don't use it just keep it safe in a magic pounch or name it) them give the item to lamia or medusa (rings, books, staff, weapons, fruit, shield) make sure you check details and don't try use them

You have to give the lamia an item that is actually a disguised fox. Probably the easiest way to do it is to go to floor 28 of Route Old Castle, pick up a bunch of items that are laying on the floor, and check their information in your inventory to see if it says that it smells like a beast. If so, then that's a disguised Fox 3tails. If you invite a lamia and she asks for an item, give that item to her and she'll join you.

You can pick up lower tier foxes too. Look out in first person for an item that appears to be moving slightly. Get one of your girls to stand on top of it then swap positions with her. You'll be able to pick up the fox item with the feet command.
By the way: you can also put gold bags in your regular inventory by moving onto them while dashing and then using feet. The feet command reveals a lot of secret interactions actually.

Feet can also be used to dig up those little sparkling patches of ground, which seemed obvious once I figured it out but wasn't really tutorialized anywhere.

Foxes disguised as items turn into foxes when I'm next to them though. How do you stop them from turning into a fox and remaining as an item?

let your friend step on disguised fox and swap position with you and take the item. 3 - 6 tails fox will not immediately turn into fox when stepped tho

Thanks for the tip! So it seems easier to get to the level where 3-6 tails are and just get the items. I didn't realize "looking" will betray a fox as well, cool cool! The games fun! I wish there was a touch less sexualization, like I play on switch, I don't need monsters with their zippers not done up.

Also I Still can't get a fox item, two or three tails still appear as I stand next to them, so any advice on being able to pick them up is wrong, anyone actually get a fluffy item or try to? I really can't yet. Convoluted for a monster that's mid that's for sure.

They always appear for me when I attempt to stand on the item to take it.

As I wrote before. You need your friend to step on fox item first (the fox will not transform if friend step on it) and you swap position with your friend (supposedly still not transform) and pick up that fox item. And it's fine to stand next to fox item, as long as you don't take a step to it

First, you need to make your monster "follow" you (this is default command if you just recruit monster) and make your friend step on the item.

After that switch position physically with your friend who step on the item
