A question of getting the worst out of the way
I have remained somewhat spoiler-free of IWHTG, but I know that in order to get the epilogue, I'll need to get all four endings, including the bad ones. I really despise bad endings (strange, I know), but I have to ask if it would be too shallow of me to just skip through the major parts my first time and do selections that would trigger those endings, then focus on getting the good ones?

Bad endings may be heart-rending, but they inform where characters used to be, where they may go, or how they got there. I guess it depends if you care for a deeper character analysis or not. Sometimes you just want a nice story.

Play however you want. We're not gonna hold a gun to your head. You don't need to justify anything. If you insist on skipping, there are settings in the game to blaze though unseen dialogue. The easiest way to confirm your path (in a not sorta cheaty way) is to wait til you're going to the winter formal. If Olivia is wearing a simple white dress, skip to the end. Both the bad ones have her in it.

If you wanna cheat a bit, there's dev options available. You can enable chapter select, then pick the final one at whatever ending level you wanna skip. Then just press tab and go for a walk.

However, if you wanna walk through fire, the order I'd recommend is 3 1 2 4. Starts nice but not perfect, journey through darkness, then end with the golden dawn. If you decide differently, just... don't do the 4th first, if you have any interest in the other paths. Leave that for the end. Trust me.

Let your first ending go without a guide. To be honest, the game is so well written that if you did not get the worse ending you won't know what ending you are on till you connect the dots. You can skip all dialog that is not new so that makes replaying it really easy, but still an extra 2 hours for each ending. I would also recommend getting the final ending last but if you get it as your first ending Good job lol.

Do your first play through blind and get what you get, then go ahead and do the rest in ascending order from 1-4 (minus whatever you got on the first attempt of course).

There's no reason to do the bad endings right now if you don't want to, but there's a chance that (like Snoot) there will be extras added post-launch that can only be unlocked by getting all the endings.

I'll just say right now that it's pretty hard to get 4 without redoing choices, and you have to be borderline doing terrible on purpose to get 1.

Read the following after you get your first ending: The point of divergence depending on which ending you're locked into starts when you meet with Mia, Ben, and Scaler in the principals office
