Extra oxygen or resources
What should I do when I have an inbalance in an infinite resource, like oxygen vs carbon? I usually store oxygen in a large number of depots, and then I delete and reinstall half of them at regular intervals, but this is not optimal ... We would need a factory trashing a resource I think.

You can just let the O2 sit in a depot -- preferably near a supply center for when your growing population increases demand for it. Your atmospheric extractors will still produce carbon even if they're not producing more O2.

Yep, what @Boas said.

And I would like to add that I very much appreciate the fact that extractors still continue to work when one resource is full. Same with drills.
Otherwise it would be a pain in the waste disposal.

Oh, I thought it was the contrary! Problem solved, I should read the tooltips again.

However, I think I've noticed recyclers do choke up if you don't dispose of all the aluminium and steel they spit out. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that way.

Yes, they choke up but you need even more aluminium and steel for hi-tech and composite so you should utilize everything. Would be great to prioritize source of aluminium/steel for tempered steel and composite (1st recycling in, 2nd crawler/factory) so it really does not choke up system if you overflow resources from crawlers.

It feels like it's gonna choke up at first but when your city starts growing and growing, you'll notice that recycling metal waste is not enough for the materials you need esp. aluminum bars for hightech parts and realize you have to mine again.

One more reason to have a central resource dump for resources that are liable to choke up your waste recycling operation.

Haha OP, its hilarious that everyone defaults to creating large fields of oxygen storage and then routinely raze and rebuild them - if there is so much oxygen in the air and in storage, why not just open the windows and breathe it in?

Really need an oxygen overflow mechanism to just vent it back into atmosphere when storage is full.
