Intruder defence management
Loving the idea! just thought i'd throw in a suggestion to have more in depth intruder defences, rather than have marines flow to intruders without order it'd be fun and less dangerous to crew to be able to draw defensive lines, maybe have the crew set up barricades and push forward together against the intruders, i simply hate the way that in alot of these games defenders will run to their death alone, doing almost nothing against a mass of invaders when they could have waited for team mates and had a fighting chance

I second this. Defenders usually have the advantage in an engagement, due to the ability to entrench themselves, choke points, ambushes, familiarity with terrain, etc.

I think is probematic with the actually structure with the game, but they could implement some items where a marines can be able to shoot intruders with less risk of casuallity or deploy automatic turrets
We should also rememeber that fighting is the last thing we should do in this game, the best strategy is jumping faster than light.

why they use fist instead of weapon from the weapon rack. This game have a long way to go.

I'm kind of reminded of how things went in Evil Genius: when the alarm is raised the guards would grab weapons based on their specialty (e.g. the basic worker grabbed pistols, the guards would arm themselves with rifles).

I have to admit I'm a sucker for those scenes in movies or cartoons where the guards rush over the armory to grab and load their weapons, so I do hope there's more variety with the weapons in future.

I would also like to suggest something in the corridors that can extend to provide cover and retract when not needed.

Maybe do a Dwarf Fortress thing and have security teams that you can move as a unit or rally points that can move so your security doesn't get killed piecemeal.

The thing is that in this game when the zutopans do catch up to me it is because something has already gone so bad I don't even care anymore. It is usually electricity because power isn't getting produced due to supply issues. Or crewmembers are starving and refuse to eat. Or some nonsense bug.

This game has mustering stations and weapons lockers. I just never used them because there is no point in defending a doomed ship.
