Chains of Avarice bugged.

Chains of Avarice, Mammon's special diplomatic ability appears to be functioning incorrectly.

I have noticed that it has been lasting only 2-3 turns in my most recent game. I have been offering it to two other players, who accepted it, one playing Belphegor, and the other playing Belial.

Turn 1 I offer it.
Turn 2. I get an acceptance confirmation
Turn 3. I start getting tribute from it.
Turn 4. I continue to get tribute from it.
Turn 5. Nothing. It has disappeared from the diplo screen, and I can make a demand of the other party, offer a new chains deal, etc. Chains has ended.

The in game description for Chains says it lasts 5 turns, but I cannot believe it means this. 5 prestige for this incredibly dubious return is obviously silly.

Can anyone else indicate how it has functioned for them, and in what, if any situation it has actually functioned correctly?

Very strange indeed.

I can't say that I noticed this happen, but maybe I wasn't paying attention.
I recommend testing it in single player and/or with friends in a match you open for this purpose.
I may do it myself, but it's currently unlikely.
