-The Angel spawns rather close to the first legion they want to kill.
-They target one legion per Archfiend, all selected when the Event is played or when the Angel spawns.
-The order in which they target the various Archfiends is consistently tied to the number of legions hired, and I suspect that may change if an Archfiend recruits enough legions during the event. More legions is target first, of course.
-They take the shortest route to their chosen legion, attacking and often destroying any other legion they might encounter.
-The Angel has a timer, I don't know how long. When that ticks over, the Angel goes back to Heaven and who survived survived. That's particularly meaningful in large maps or if you have a 5+ movement legion that gets selected.
In Belial's Chronicle you start with the Angel card. If you activate it the very first turn, I found it works as a pretty good tutorial to the event.
Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation!
I didn't know about most of these mechanics. I am pretty sure the host wanted to target my starting legion so it happened to wipe other ones in its path as well and that is why I lost multiple. I wasn't getting targeted, my base just had a very unfortunate positioning relative to the event spawn.
That is very funny, I didn't know about this interaction. Thanks for the advice for this.
